I brought a secular Jewish friend to an Orthodox shul years ago. The rabbi asked my friend why he came. My friend said my name. The rabbi couldn’t hide his dismay.
Mike Wallin: “I brought a friend from work to a shabbos dinner and he had a very Jewish name and enjoyed himself and started attending shuirim and every event and a few weeks go by and we go grab lunch and talk so I ask him how he’s enjoying the orthodox lifestyle and he answers me that he’s having a great time and he never was exposed to it before because his mother’s not Jewish.”
“I have a friend who is a doctor in L.A. and in the 30 years I have known him I never bothered remembering his wives names because I know she’s not going to be married to him by my next visit…this guy’s a Cohen.”
