The organized right-wing Jewish community doesn’t give a damn about “social issues” (immigration, abortion, gay marriage, affirmative action, hate crimes, anything domestic but taxes) and the Jewish left knows to stay away from Israel and that is the dirty deal of organized Jewry. All these domestic policies are determined by left-wing Jewish organizations.
According to Orthodox rabbi Asher Lopatin: “Immigration oppression started in Egypt where the Pharoah had irrational prejudice against the Israelites.”
JCUA (Jewish Council on Urban Affairs) called for Obama to issue an executive action without Congress granting immigration amnesty to millions.
JCUA essentially dictates social policy for America’s major Jewish organizations and the ostensibly right-wing Jewish organizations don’t push back.
The Rebbe spent much of his career as head of Lubavitch in conflict with America’s leading Jewish organizations who kept pushing for a more secular America.
Yeshivat Chovevei Torah has a strong Shomer Shabbos left-wing, such as this guy, Rabbi Yerachmiel Shapiro, whose mentor is Asher Lopatin.
There is not one Jewish org we can point to that says “No!” to the left. Not the neocons, not the Orthodox Union, not the Agudah.
