In 2001, I was taken to lunch and interviewed by freelance writer and Los Angeles public defender Lara Bazelon (the granddaughter of the famed judge David L. Bazelon).
She then got into a tempestuous email exchange with my alter-ego Chaim Amalek.
Chaim and I have never been the same.
Her proposed article on me for the magazine Legal Affairs was never published.
I see her sister Emily Bazelon popping up all the time on Slate.com.
Today I wondered whatever happened to Lara.
Well, according to Google, she just got married. October 4. Matthew Dirkes is the lucky guy. He is, or was, "Law Clerk, Chambers of Senior Judge Samuel Conti, United States District Court for the Northern District of California."
Lara published an article in the LA Times in June on Judge Kosinski’s disgrace.
