We’re planning some great performances and parties for Christmas weekend at Ace PSP. It’s all set to be a great weekend holiday trip. All you need to bring is your beautiful self. There’s a big range of events, which are all free – our Christmas present to you. Join in when you like, and be sure to hit up the spa and treat yourself right.
Throwing Christmas on its head a little, the weekend kicks off Friday, December 24, with the 2nd annual Heebonism Palm Springs, starring comedians Holly Prazoff (named Toronto’s Best Trash Talker by MTV Canada), Rebecca Addelman (one of the Whitest Kids U Know on IFC) and Adam Shenkman (self- described as “radically unique”). Afterward there’s a dance party with DJ Maximum Thrills (Viva Radio/Flaunt Magazine).
Then on Saturday, (aka Christmas), desert favorite Alf Alpha kicks off World Famous, a new monthly night that will be every last Saturday at Ace. It’s a big old PSP party with a ton of super stoked people getting down. You’ll probably see some friends from around town, and make some new ones. Alf Alpha plays everything from the ’70s to the future, influenced by, yet going beyond, the underground club scene. There will also be crafting provided by Coachella Valley Art Scene. We did this last month and it was awesome. You can make a feathered headband to go with your dancing clothes, or a frame for your photobooth strips.
And on December 26, Boxing Day, we’re very lucky to be graced by the legendary Holly Miranda. The haunting vocalist has come a long way in the last couple years, touring with Tegan and Sara and The xx, recording an album produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio, and still lovely and unpretentious. Holly is a good friend of Ace and has played with us in NYC, Portland and also two years ago at our events during Coachella.
