Status Of Rubashkin’s Non-Glatt Meat

What is glatt kosher? Informally it means "super kosher."

The background to this dispute is that the leaders of Orthodox Judaism in Los Angeles have done everything they can to prevent the sale of non-glatt meat.

It’s all part of Orthodox Judaism’s shift to the right (and greater stringencies and separations from non-Orthodox Jews and goyim).

It’s gotten to the point where I can only bear to have goyisha news on this site if I can make a lot of money from it.

Pico/Robertson’s three Modern Orthodox pulpit rabbis sent out this email today:

Dear Friends,

We want to inform you that after meeting with the Rubashkin family and sending a delegation to the plant in Postville, Iowa, we are in the process of setting up appropriate checks & balances and hope to have them in place as of March 3, 2008. We look forward to being able to recommend the non-glatt meat to consumers effective March 3 barring any unforeseen complications. You will be able to purchase this meat at Doheny Kosher on Pico Boulevard.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this matter.
