I know that Rahm Emanuel speaks Hebrew, belongs to an Orthodox synagogue and visits Israel.
His wife, Amy Rule, apparently did not receive an Orthodox conversion.
Rabbi Asher Lopatin writes to the Failed Messiah blog in November 2008:
