Casting For President

Rob Long tells Mickey Kaus on BloggingHeadsTV about Barack Obama: "He’s not going to be that far left… People will say… He’s going to make me feel good about this country and the unity we need. I want to elect somebody that I’ll like…

"When Americans elect a president, they’re casting a guy who will be on their TV for four years. Is he going to wear well? They’re going to like Obama. They’re going to like what it says about us as a country and they’re going to like what it says about them pulling the lever for Obama… As long as he doesn’t scare us…"

Mickey: "It turns out he’s going to be the black Jimmy Carter. He’s a moralist. So is Huckabee."
