When the Wrong Are Right

Ross Douthat seems a tad reactionary here:

THE rise of Donald Trump, and with him a white-identity politics more explicit than anything America has seen in decades, has created an interesting division on the political left — over the question of what, if anything, liberal politics ought to offer to people who seem bigoted.

On the one hand there are liberals determined to regard Trumpism as almost exclusively motivated by racial and cultural resentments, with few legitimate economic grievances complicating the morality play. From this perspective, the fact that Trump’s G.O.P. has finally consolidated, say, a once-Democratic area like Appalachia is almost a welcome relief: At last all the white racists are safely in the other party, and we don’t have to cater to them anymore.

On the other hand, there are left-wingers who regard Trump’s support among erstwhile Democrats as a sign that liberalism has badly failed some of its natural constituents, and who fear that a Democratic coalition that easily crushes Trump without much white working-class support will simply write off their struggles as no more than the backward and bigoted deserve.

I like how the left-wing gadfly Fredrik deBoer framed this issue: “What do you owe to people who are guilty of being wrong?” It’s a question for liberals all across the Western world to ponder, given the widening gulf between their increasingly cosmopolitan parties and an increasingly right-leaning native working class.

But as a conservative, I would add another question: What happens if the bigoted sometimes get things right?

Don’t worry, this isn’t a setup for my slow reconciliation with the candidacy of Donald Trump. Rather, it’s a warning against organizing your politics around antibigotry alone, and assuming that just because there are racists or nativists or xenophobes on the other side of a policy argument your side must be right.

Here are a few pertinent examples, from the recent past to the present day.

For decades following the 1960s, liberals insisted that the Republican Party’s tough-on-crime rhetoric wasn’t really about crime at all; it was a barely coded appeal to racists, a transference of white supremacist politics from “segregation now, segregation forever” to paranoia about Willie Horton.

Tough-on-crime rhetoric did indeed play on racial fears; lots of white bigots did vote for law-and-order Republicans. But the rhetoric also played on fears of the actual immense crime wave sweeping the United States, a wave that liberal governance failed miserably to arrest or roll back. And for a long time, elite opinion was so determined not to give white bigots any aid and comfort, so determined not to take racists’ side in any way, that it ignored or minimized the actual policy problem, the actual crisis at its door…

If bigots are for it, we’re against it. It’s a powerful credo. But there’s always a danger that by following it too far, you end up being against reality itself.

…places like Times Square and Hollywood Boulevard are full of people hustling for tips from tourists who, unlike Jermaine, go to the trouble of dressing up as comic book character. Most of them don’t cause too much trouble. But occasionally the Hulk Smash urge takes over. For example, from the L.A. Times in 2007:

The buzz on Hollywood Boulevard on Friday was over the Chewbacca who police say crossed over to the dark side in front of hundreds of tourists at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
LAPD officers arrested “Star Wars” street performer Frederick Evan Young, 44, of Los Angeles in his furry brown wookiee costume Thursday on a charge of misdemeanor battery for allegedly head-butting a tour guide who complained about Young’s treatment of two visitors from Japan.
The incident — witnessed by Superman and other impersonators — is the latest clash outside the landmark cinema between visitors and performers dressed as movie and cartoon characters. They collect tips from tourists who pose for pictures and watch them perform in front of the theater, where generations of stars have placed their footprints in concrete.
Tourists have complained that some costumed characters turn abusive when they refuse to pay them to pose for pictures. Two years ago, actors dressed as superhero Mr. Incredible, Elmo the Muppet and the dark-hooded character from the movie “Scream” were arrested for aggressive begging. More recently, an actor portraying slasher movie favorite Freddie Krueger was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing another man, although no charges were filed.

COMMENTS:

* There was a notorious Elmo in Times Square a few years ago who would go on foul-mouthed anti-Semitic rants in between taking pictures and giving hugs. He was arrested several times but would reappear.

* Minimum sentencing guidelines and more prison beds tend to reduce this kind of thing: Only a small percentage of the population is this out-of-control. They’re fairly easy to detect, arrest and convict. When they’re warehoused in prison crime goes down.

* In the case of Jermaine, as John Derbyshire as noted, the present de facto religion is Negro-worship. Doing something about Jermaine would require recognition that he is a periodically slightly-daft, but dangerously violent Negro, which is impossible given present cultural standards. So some young women have to suffer some periodic serious, although almost-never, life threatening injuries. It’s just a sacrifice to the tribal gods.

* I can’t help thinking of the guy who was killed in Union Square a few years ago.

When you sucker punch people in the head on a city street, there’s a chance you will end up killing them.

* Lee Kuan Yew called busking ‘disguised begging’. Busking is poorly disguised mugging for a certain type of guy.

* In DC aka second chance city, even violent criminals are treated with kid gloves which leads to predictable results.

Washington Post:

The alleged perpetrator, 21-year-old Antwon Durrell Pitt, had an extensive criminal history, including eight arrests in four years and a robbery conviction. Three times, he was sentenced under laws designed to promote leniency and second chances for inexperienced adult offenders. In two of those cases, he was sentenced under the District’s Youth Rehabilitation Act, a 1980s-era law aimed at “deserving” offenders under the age of 22.

 Pitt’s case shows that such laws, combined with lax enforcement by key federal agencies, can give many chances to violent offenders despite repeated criminal behavior and the failure to abide by terms of release, according to a Washington Post review of court records, transcripts and probation reports.

* Here is the voice of one of Obama’s sons, from the comments on the local NBC station website story:

“These motherf**ers dont care about any rules & regs the city council just put in place & honestly i dont blame them. Personally, i wouldnt had punched the lady in thr face but i wouldve sure as hell had some choice words for her for not tipping me.”

JJ helpfully includes a photo of himself and a link to his Facebook page.

Anyone who visits NY should be wise to the ways of the city and know that nobody really gives you anything for free so that someone offering “Free Hugs” is actually expecting remuneration. NY is a high cost of living place and ain’t nothin’ free. If you are a naive Canadian woman, then JJ and Jermaine will teach you. Maybe JJ is one of the guys in the Elmo suits so he has a professional stake in educating tourists on this charming local custom.

If people thought that they could get away with not paying for these kind of services, it would be really bad for business – word might get out that you could get away without paying. If you bought a hot dog from a vendor and didn’t pay him, he might have the same reaction.

* Although he got off the first 15 or so times that he did this, I think that Jermaine’s luck has just run out. He has attracted the Eye of Sauron and he can no longer slip between the cracks in the legal system. A number of witnesses have come forward from other incidents in which he slugged women. Negroes have #1 privilege in the liberal system but women are not far behind. Even in De Blasio’s NY (Jermaine looks like his son too), I expect this time they will indict him on multiple counts of assault and he will do some time.

No Kin Of Mine

When O.J. Simpson was acquitted of murder, much of white America woke up to the fact that blacks lived in a very different moral universe from them. For most blacks, as with many Jews and Muslims and East Asians, tribal loyalty is automatic. Tribes have an in-group vs. out-group morality. You take care of your in-group and who cares about the out-group. That’s why there are so many tribalists in financial scandals.

About the only group that does not practice a dual morality are the WASPs. That’s why they produce the best countries.

As America has moved away from its Anglo heritage, it has become more corrupt.

Macklin led the Tigers to the 1981 Final Four in Philadelphia, where an injured finger hampered him in a semifinal loss to Indiana. Just before the consolation game against Virginia, President Ronald Reagan was shot, and after the loss, Macklin was asked if the news might have affected the team. His widely-reported response — “He’s no kin of mine” — was so blown out of proportion that he feared for his life. MSN: Brazilian admits killing 41 people [white women] ‘for fun’

A Brazilian man accused of stabbing a woman to death in a Rio suburb has confessed to have murdered 41 people, almost all of them women, “for the fun of it,” police said Thursday.

“He wanted to kill women — white women, not black ones. He followed the victims, studying them closely before committing the crimes,” said police commissioner Pedro Henrique Medina from the northern suburb of Nova Iguacu.

The man was identified as Sailson Jose das Gracas, a 26-year-old whom police describe as a psychopath.

They said they were checking his statements against past investigations, and so far they tally with the evidence.

Gracas says he murdered 37 women, three men and a two-year-old child over a nine-year killing spree, explaining he killed the child because he feared it would cry and attract neighbors’ attention.

“I observed them, I studied them. I waited for a month, sometimes a week, depending on the place. I tried to ascertain where they lived, what their families were like. I kept watch on their houses and then after a while went there at dawn, waited for my chance and entered,” broadcaster Globo’s G1 news portal quoted Gracas as saying.

He explained he started out as a petty thief.

“At 17, I killed the first woman and that gave me a buzz. I kept on doing it and I enjoyed it,” he said, adding on one occasion a couple, Cleusa Balbina and her former husband Jose Messias, contracted him to kill someone for money. The pair are now under arrest.

Gracas said he used a gun in contract killings but strangled his other victims.

He planned his crimes meticulously, wearing a rain jacket in order to conceal his identity and gloves in order not to leave fingerprints, adding he became addicted to murder.

“When I wasn’t killing someone I got uptight. I would pace up and down at home. Killing calmed me down.

“I’d kill someone and then would think about the victim for two or three months. After that, I’d go off hunting” for another victim, Gracas revealed.

“I don’t feel remorse — if I go to jail for 10, 15, 20 years, then as soon as I get out I’ll do the same thing all over again,” he insisted.

Are Jews A Race?

Comment: Yes, but it was also not uncommon to refer to the “English race,” “German race,” “Italian race,” etc. as well as the broader “White race” in that era. With regard to the population genetic evidence, discussing Jews as a race ignores that there are subgroups among Jews that have different genetic histories. Considering some of the larger Jewish subgroups, the recent work of Shai Carmi and collaborators has shown that Ashkenazi Jews are predominantly a mixture of Middle Eastern and Southern European genetic components with a small amount of East European admixture. Yemeni Jews appear to be descended from local converts.

Sephardic Jews are not and were never restricted to North Africa. After the Iberian expulsions, some Sephardic Jews went to Italy and the Ottoman Empire as well as to North Africa. Indigenous Middle Eastern Jewish populations, in modern parlance sometimes referred to as Mizrahim instead of Sephardim, existed outside of North Africa as well, for example in Iran and Iraq.

The strongest evidence for distinct Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry comes from autosomal DNA studies that assay thousands of loci throughout the genome rather than uniparental marker haplotypes. However, it is also now clear that Ashkenazi Jews are the result of admixture (predominantly Middle Eastern and Southern European with a minor East European component). The admixture and subsequent inbreeding tend to cause Ashkenazi Jewish samples to form their own genetic cluster in the standard statistical analyses of the genetic data. The same effect is seen to some extent when other admixed groups like Uighurs are analyzed genetically. But even regions within the UK are genetically differentiable by autosomal DNA analysis.

JTA: Jewish groups unite to defend Muslims from discrimination

If you found your bedroom filled with poisonous snakes, who would you hate? The snakes or the people who put them there? The Jewish groups in the following story want to fill your community with poisonous snakes. From many a non-Muslim perspective in the West, Muslim immigrants in your country are poison, just as from a Muslim perspective, the Jewish state of Israel is a poison in their midst and no churches or synagogues can be allowed in Saudi Arabia (and non-Muslims have to be segregated).

The friends of my enemies are my enemies. How do Arabs and Muslims feel about their fellow Arabs and Muslims who praise the beauty of the Jewish state of Israel? I suspect that normal Arabs and Muslims would rightly think of them as traitors. How many Arab and Muslim groups are there protesting hatred against the Jewish state of Israel?

For more than 200 years, Jews in the West have consistently sided with the coalition of the fringe against the white Christian core. You rarely find large numbers of Jews in any movement that seeks to strengthen the white Christian core against the fringe.

There is nothing in Torah that mandates how Jews should rally on behalf of other minorities. The Torah is strangely silent on civil rights legislation in gentile countries. The Torah is strangely silent about the great evils of Islamophobia, homophobia, lookism, sexism, bigotry and discrimination. The Jews who are most passionate about such things are the least Jewish, while Jews who are the most Jewish (traditional orthodox Jews) do not care about civil rights and usually vote right-wing.

Many, perhaps most Orthodox Jews in America, would be glad if all the Muslims and blacks around them disappeared. Most Jews wish that all Palestinians disappear.

A lot of Jews tell me that I am the only person they know who loves Donald Trump.

A dozen American organizations team up to support legislation thwarting proposed ban on Muslims entering the US.
From a bid to overcome resistance to building a mosque in New Jersey to defending a Muslim student at a military academy who wants to wear a hijab, Jewish groups this week joined efforts to stop anti-Muslim discrimination.
Nearly a dozen Jewish groups are also backing legislation against banning entry to Muslims, prompted by a proposal for such a ban by presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists joined the Becket Fund, a conservative group that advocates for religious liberty, in a friend of the court brief filed Wednesday on behalf of Muslims who have been blocked from building a mosque in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
Another of the groups backing the Muslim community in the mosque case is the Interfaith Coalition on Mosques, a group convened in 2010 by the Anti-Defamation League to support Muslim communities seeking to build mosques. “The Islamic Society of Basking Ridge was held to a different standard than every other house of worship in the community, and that is simply unacceptable,” Joshua Cohen, ADL’s regional director, said in a statement.
Also Wednesday, the American Jewish Committee called on The Citadel, a military college in South Carolina, to allow a Muslim student to wear a hijab.
The college president, Lt. Gen. John Rosa, said that deviations from the school’s uniform could detract from leadership training, the Washington Post reported Wednesday, adding that the college otherwise remains committed to diversity.
“The Citadel should reverse its hijab ban as part of its commitment to preparing its students for leadership positions in military service and civilian careers,” Robert Silverman, AJC’s director of Muslim-Jewish relations, said in a statement.
The statement noted that Jewish groups, including the AJC, backed legislation passed in 1988 that allowed servicemen to wear religious garb based on litigation brought in the 1980s by a Jewish Air Force officer who wanted to wear a kippah.
Separately, more than 70 members of the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday introduced legislation that would prohibit religion as a criterion for banning entry to visitors, immigrants or refugees.
Broadsides against Muslims by Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, and other Republican candidates sparked the legislation.
The legislation is backed by at least 11 Jewish groups, including umbrella bodies for the Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist movements and the public policy umbrella, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, among the more than 30 faith groups that have expressed support for it.

* Shouldn’t these Jew Socialists be focused on helping indigent Jewish elderly in Brooklyn and donating to Maimonides Hospital?

* Jewish groups should stick to discussing Judaism and fighting for the Jewish people. They should quit pretending Islam is the same as Judaism, and actually learn about the doctrines of the Koran which teaches that the Jews are the most corrupt and worst enemies of the true believers, i.e., Muslims. Jewish groups should be confronting Islamic Jew hatred, not foolishly fighting for Islam.

* These self hating Jews should unite to protect Israelis, fellow Jews, Christians, and any non Muslims from Muslim discrimination, It seems to me that Muslims do most of the killing and discriminating in this world. They also do the most whining about being discriminated against.

* Yet no Jews are allowed in any Arab country…where are the muslims protesting that…Liberal Jews are lost in space.

* Sorry liberal jewish groups – but you do NOT have my support or that of many others involved in the mideast conflict. Muslims are NOT welcome in the West and neither I nor anyone else I know support them until they learn how to act like civilized humans on many fronts, including the acceptance of the rights of non-muslims, treatment of non-muslims in the mideast as equals, acceptance of Israel, etc.

Tyson Fury launches foul-mouthed rant about Jews, rape and bestiality – watch latest astonishing outburst

World heavyweight boxing champ Tyson Fury has unleashed a foul-mouthed religious rant on video.

As he prepares for his rematch with ex-champ Wladimir Klitschko , Fury has reignited the row over some of his beliefs.

Last year he caused anger with his outspoken opinions on homosexuality, abortion and paedophilia.

And in an interview recently posted on YouTube, Fury shows no sign of having mellowed.

In the expletive-littered broadcast he takes aim at paedophiles, bisexuals, sex swap ops, and what he believes is a lack of morals in society.

He said: “It’s like you’re a freak of nature if you’re normal, you’re the odd one out nobody else.

“What’s normal? I’ll just get myself changed into a woman that’s normal isn’t it today call myself Tysina or something like that, put a wig on…”

“I don’t think it’s normal I think they’re freaks of nature.”

He also appears to be critical of Jews, saying: “Everyone just do what you can, listen to the government follow everybody like sheep, be brainwashed by all the Zionist, Jewish people who own all the banks, all the papers all the TV stations. Be brainwashed by them all.”

And he continues: “I think it’ll be perfectly normal in the next ten years to have sexual relationships with your animals at home you know your pets your cats and dogs and all that so that will be legal.

“You are already allowed to marry your animals and stuff.

“It is going to happen though, isn’t it? Whatever you can think of that’s bad, will be made legal, because that’s what the devil wants.”

One had the full burqa, just a tiny slit for her eyes to see out, and the sun glasses over that, and a denim jacket over her long black hate dress–as if sunglasses and a denim jacket will help her blend in, make us think she’s just like us.
