Have Ann Coulter’s TV appearances diminished since her tweets about Jews?

I’ve always enjoyed Joseph Sobran’s writing though I disagree with many of his criticisms of Jews and the Jewish state.

I am one of those crazy guys who believes that you often learn more from your critics than from your friends. Neither category of people is more likely to tell you the truth.

This is an essay he expanded from a speech he gave in 2002 to IHR:

The news that I would be addressing the Institute of Historical Review came to some people as … well, news. It was mentioned in the Jewish newspaper Forward and on the Zionist Wall Street Journal Online. The editors of two conservative magazines called and wrote me to express their concern that I might damage my reputation, such as it is, by speaking to “Holocaust deniers.”

I’m not sure why this should matter. Even positing that I was speaking to a disreputable audience, I expect to be judged by what I say, not whom I say it to. I note that my enemies have written a great deal about me, yet they rarely quote me directly.

Why not? If I am so disreputable myself, I must at least occasionally say disreputable things. Is it possible that what I say is more cogent than they like to admit?

My enemies are always welcome to quote anything I say, if they dare. I would say the same things to them, and they may consider my remarks to the IHR as addressed to them too. I wasn’t just speaking to “Holocaust deniers,” but also to Holocaust believers.

Because I’ve endured smears and ostracism for my criticism of Israel and its American lobby, some people credit me with courage. I’m flattered, of course, but this compliment, whether or not I deserve it, implies that it’s professionally dangerous for a journalist to criticize Israel. That tells you a lot.

But if I’m “courageous,” what do you call Mark Weber and the Institute for Historical Review? They have been smeared far worse than I have; moreover, they have been seriously threatened with death. Their offices have been firebombed. Do they at least get credit for courage? Not at all. They remain almost universally vilified.

When I met Mark, many years ago, I expected to meet a raving Jew-hating fanatic, such being the generic reputation of “Holocaust deniers.” I was immediately and subsequently impressed to find that he was just the opposite: a mild-mannered, good-humored, witty, scholarly man who habitually spoke with restraint and measure, even about enemies who would love to see him dead. The same is true of other members of the Institute. In my many years of acquaintance with them, I have never heard any of them say anything that would strike an unprejudiced listener as unreasonable or bigoted.

Breaker quote: “Holocaust deniers” versus fanaticsIt was his enemies who were raving, hate-filled fanatics, unable to discuss “Holocaust deniers” in measured language, without wild hyperbole, loose accusation, and outright lies. I began to wonder: if they can’t tell the truth about “Holocaust deniers,” how can they tell the truth about the Holocaust itself?

Even if the Holocaust had really happened, as I assumed, maybe it should be studied with a critical rationality most of its believers obviously lacked. After all, even Stalin’s crimes might be exaggerated, quite understandably, by his victims. As Milton puts it, “Let truth and falsehood grapple; who ever knew truth put to the worse in a free and open encounter?” Even those in error might have something to say, some marginal clarification to offer. Why stop our ears against them?

Why on earth is it “anti-Jewish” to conclude from the evidence that the standard numbers of Jews murdered are inaccurate, or that the Hitler regime, bad as it was in many ways, was not, in fact, intent on racial extermination? Surely these are controversial conclusions; but if so, let the controversy rage. There is no danger in permitting it to proceed. It might be different if denying the Holocaust could somehow affect the course of events, as the denial of Stalin’s crimes by the New York Times in the 1930s helped him to continue committing them. Why is the Institute for Historical Review notorious, while the Times, despite its active support of Stalin at the height of his power, remains a pillar of respectability?

The Holocaust has never been a consuming interest of mine. But as I read the Journal of Historical Review over the years, I found in it the same calm virtue of critical rationality I’d found in Mark himself. And it was applied to many other subjects besides the question of whether Hitler had tried to exterminate the Jews.

I’m especially indebted to one fascinating article on another taboo subject: Abraham Lincoln’s long pursuit of the policy of sending former Negro slaves outside the United States. This completely reshaped the book on Lincoln I was writing. I realized that you can’t understand Lincoln unless you grasp that he waged the Civil War with a dual goal: to prevent the political separation of North and South, while achieving the racial separation of whites and blacks. His dream was a united white America. He was by no means the color-blind humanitarian we have been taught to revere.

The IHR’s mission can’t be fairly summed up as “Holocaust denial.” Its real mission is criticism of the suffocating progressive ideology that has infected and distorted the telling of history in our time. But of course its specific skepticism of the standard Holocaust story is regarded as blasphemy, and has earned it the dreaded epithet of anti- Semitism.

Not long ago the only label more lethal to one’s reputation was that of child molester, but, as many men of the cloth are now discovering, there is this difference: a child molester may hope for a second chance.

There is also another difference. We have a pretty clear idea what child molestation is. Nobody really knows what “anti-Semitism” is. My old boss Bill Buckley wrote an entire book called In Search of Anti- Semitism without bothering to define anti- Semitism.

At the time I thought this was an oversight. I was wrong. The word would lose its utility if it were defined. As I observed in my own small contribution to the book, an anti-Semite used to mean a man who hated Jews. Now it means a man who is hated by Jews.

I doubt, in fact I can’t imagine, that anyone associated with the IHR has ever done harm to another human being because he was Jewish. In fact the IHR has never been accused of anything but thought-crimes.

The same is true of me. Nobody has ever accused me of the slightest personal indecency to a Jew. My chief offense, it appears, has been to insist that the state of Israel has been a costly and treacherous “ally” to the United States. As of last September 11, I should think that is undeniable. But I have yet to receive a single apology for having been correct.

If I were to hate Jews en masse, without distinction, I would be guilty of many things. Obviously I’d be guilty of injustice and uncharity to Jews as human beings. I would also be guilty of willful stupidity. More personally, I’d be guilty of ingratitude to my benefactors — which Dante, in his Inferno, ranks the worst of all sins — since many of my benefactors, in large ways and small, have been Jewish

Moreover, I would be becoming exactly the man my Zionist enemies would like me to be; a man like them, in whom ethnic hostilities take priority over all other values and considerations. I would justify them in treating me as an enemy. In fact I’d go so far as to say that I would be helping to justify the state of Israel. I consider that if I fight these people on their terms, they have already won.

What, exactly, is “anti-Semitism”? One standard dictionary definition is “hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious or racial group.” How this applies to me has never been explained. My “hostility” toward Israel is a desire not for war, but for neutrality — out of a sense of betrayal, waste, and shame. Our venal politicians have aligned us with a foreign country that behaves dishonorably. Most alleged “anti-Semites” would wince if Jews anywhere were treated as Israel treats its Arab subjects. Moreover, Israel has repeatedly betrayed its only benefactor, the United States. I have already alluded to the place Dante reserves for those who betray their benefactors.

These are obvious moral facts. Yet it’s not only politicians who are afraid to point them out; so are most journalists — the people who are supposed to be independent enough to say the things politicians can’t afford to say. In my thirty years in journalism, nothing has amazed me more than the prevalent fear in the profession of offending Jews, especially Zionist Jews.

Breaker quote: War crimes and thought-crimesThe fear of the label anti-Semitic is a fear of the power that is believed to lie behind it: Jewish power. Yet this is still pretty much unmentionable in journalism. It’s rather as if sportswriters covering pro basketball were prohibited from mentioning that the Los Angeles Lakers were in first place.

In my 21 years at National Review, I had a front-row seat. I watched closely as Bill Buckley changed from a jaunty critic of Israel to what I can only call a servile appeaser. In its early days, the magazine published robust editorials blasting politicians who sacrificed American to Israeli interests in order to pander to the Jewish vote; in those days it was considered risqué to suggest that there was a “Jewish vote.” Today Bill’s magazine supports Israel with embarrassing sycophancy, never daring to intimate that Israeli and American interests may occasionally diverge. It has forgotten its own principles; today it would never dare to publish the editorials written by its great geopolitical thinker of those early days, James Burnham.

There has been a qualitative change that is downright eerie — not only in Bill Buckley and National Review, but in American conservatism generally. The “fear of the Jews,” to use the phrase so often repeated in the Gospel according to John, seems to have wrought a reorientation of the tone, the very principles, of today’s conservatism. The hardy skepticism, critical intelligence, and healthy irony of men like James Burnham, Willmoore Kendall, and the young Buckley have given way to the uncritical philo-Semitism of George Will, Cal Thomas, Rush Limbaugh, and of course the later Buckley — men who will go to any lengths, even absurd and dishonorable lengths, to avoid the terrorizing label anti-Semite.

It was once considered “anti-Semitic” to impute “dual loyalty” to Jews — that is, to assert that most American Jews divide their loyalty between the United States and Israel. This is now passé. Today most politicians assume, as a matter of course, that Israel commands the primary loyalty of Jewish voters. Are they accused of “anti-Semitism” for doing so? Does this assumption cost them Jewish votes? Not at all! Dual loyalty nothing! Dual loyalty would be an improvement!

Once again, it’s a practical necessity to know what it would be professional suicide to say. No politician in his right mind would accuse Jews of giving their primary loyalty to Israel; but most politicians act as if this were the case. And they succeed.

You can read Jewish publications like Commentary for years, and you’ll read interminable discussions about what’s good for Israel, but you’ll never encounter the slightest suggestion that what’s good for Israel might not be good for America. The possibility simply never comes up. The only discernible duty of Jews, it seems, is to look out for Israel. They never have to choose between Israel and the United States. So much for the “canard” of dual loyalty.

The very word anti-Semite is reminiscent of the term anti-Soviet. It serves a similar function of facilitating imputations of ill-defined guilt.

The strength of Western law has always been its insistence on definition. When we want to minimize an offense, say murder or burglary, we define it as clearly as possible. We want judge and jury to know exactly what the charge means, not only to convict the guilty but, also, just as important, to protect the innocent.

Clear definitions put a burden of proof on the accuser, and properly so. If you falsely accuse a man of murder or burglary, not only is he apt to be acquitted — you may pay a heavy penalty yourself. As a result, few of us are afraid of being charged with murders and burglaries we didn’t commit.

By contrast, the Soviet legal system left prosecutors with a wide discretion in identifying “anti-Soviet” activities. Almost anything irritating to the Soviet state could qualify. An impossible burden of proof lay on the accused; guilt was presumed; acquittals were virtually nonexistent. To be indicted was already to be convicted. Since the charge was undefined, it was unfalsifiable; there was no such thing as a false accusation. As a result, the Russian population lived in fear.

The word anti-Semitic functions like the word anti-Soviet. Being undefined, it’s unfalsifiable. Loose charges of “anti-Semitism” are common, but nobody suffers any penalty for making them, since what is unfalsifiable can never be shown to be false. I once read an article in a Jewish magazine that called the first Star Wars movie “anti- Semitic.” I was amazed, but I couldn’t prove the contrary. Who could? And of course people in public life — and often in private life — fear incurring the label, however guiltless they may be.

If you want to distinguish between the innocent and the guilty, you define crimes precisely. If, however, you merely want to maximize the number of convictions, increase the power of the accusers, and create an atmosphere of dread, you define crimes as loosely as possible. We now have an incentive system that might have been designed to promote loose charges of “anti-Semitism.”

Silly as all this is from a rational point of view, the label of anti-Semitism is deeply feared. It does signify one thing: Jewish hatred. When I became a conservative as a college freshman, in 1965, nearly all Jews were liberals and Jewish intellectuals associated conservatism with “anti-Semitism.” Bill Buckley was often depicted as a fascist or crypto-Nazi; given the smears he endured, it’s understandable that he should go to great lengths to appear pro-Jewish, even if he somewhat overdid it by abetting smears of his fellow conservatives.

The situation changed somewhat when many Jewish intellectuals, upset by liberal criticism of Israel, became what were called “neoconservatives.” This term implied no deep adherence to conservative principles, but only the adoption of a few ad hoc principles useful to Zionism, with no basic departure from New Deal liberalism insofar as it was useful to Zionism. “Neoconservatism” was really a sort of “kosher” conservatism.

A few incidents from my years at National Review may illustrate the point.

In the mid 1980s, the neoconservative Earth Mother Midge Decter, wife of Norman Podhoretz, accused Russell Kirk of “anti-Semitism.” Kirk’s offense? He had made a mild quip that some neoconservatives appeared to believe that the capital of Western civilization was Tel Aviv. Never mind that he had a point. Kirk had been a founding father of modern conservatism and a National Review columnist for many years, yet the magazine not only failed to rally to his defense against this smear — it didn’t even report the incident! Decter’s attack was the biggest news of the season in the conservative movement, but Buckley was afraid to mention it. So was most of the conservative press.

At about the same time, Israeli troops shot up a Catholic Church on the West Bank during Mass — a horrible sacrilege that sent worshipers fleeing for their lives and provoked an angry protest from the Vatican. (The congregation had planned a march after Mass to protest the beating of a Palestinian priest by Israeli soldiers.) I mentioned the incident to Buckley, a fellow Catholic, at an editorial meeting and gave him a news clipping describing the event in detail; as I expected, the magazine ignored this too. Even the violent persecution of Catholics by Jews was unmentionable — in a “conservative” magazine owned and run by a Catholic.

Breaker quote: Imagine Israel without the HolocaustWhen the Pollard spy case broke, the magazine called for the death penalty for Pollard — but excused Israel for sponsoring him, on grounds that it’s normal for friendly nations to spy on each other!

And so it went. I could have understood a favorable attitude toward Israel, having been pro-Israel for many years myself; but surely even this alliance must have occasional drawbacks. From time to time it’s necessary to criticize even friends. If we criticized our own government every week, why not Israel once in a while? But the magazine consistently refused to find the slightest fault with Israel, and since I left in 1993 it has gotten much worse. Today it has become assertively slavish, to a comical degree.

By 1993 I’d had enough. I wrote a column correcting some of the things Bill had written about me, in which I mentioned his evident fear; I wrote that he was “jumpy about Jews.” This was a pretty mild description of his terror, but the column got me fired, just as I expected. Since then it has become a neoconservative legend that I was fired for “anti-Semitism,” but the truth is that it was far more personal than that. Bill knew me too well to make such a charge. I was fired for making him look bad. He considered making others look bad his prerogative.

Since then I’ve noticed how eager and desperate mainstream conservatives are to avoid Jewish wrath. Again, they don’t just speak favorably of Israel; they refuse to acknowledge any cost to American interests in the U.S.-Israel alliance. They treat the two countries’ interests as identical; when they scold either government, it’s always — always — the U.S. Government for failing to support our “reliable ally.” They are in headlong flight from reality. They have none of the realism of James Burnham, whose writings and style of thought would be wholly unwelcome in today’s conservative movement.

They are frightened. You can sense this in their bluster, in the vicarious jingoism with which they address Israel. Their fear produces a peculiar intellectual thinness that pervades all their thinking on foreign policy. Gone is the critical intelligence that used to set the tone for such earlier conservative writers as Burnham, Kendall, Kirk, Whittaker Chambers, Frank Meyer, Thomas Molnar, and the other distinguished names that used to grace the masthead of National Review. Individualists have been replaced by apparatchiks. Zionism has infiltrated conservatism in much the same way Communism once infiltrated liberalism.

I notice that Bill Buckley’s latest book is a novel about the Nuremberg trials. Over the past few years Bill has made a habit of commemorating the Holocaust with remarkable frequency. He has dropped references to Auschwitz into countless of his syndicated columns and interviews, as if compelled to banish the slightest suspicion that he has any doubts about the Holocaust or that he doesn’t feel deeply about it. The Holocaust seems to have joined, or supplanted, the Gulag Archipelago in his historical memory.

Since I vividly remember the days when Bill regarded the Jews and Israel not with hostility, but with a healthy and playful irony — the same attitude he brought to politics in general — I find all this solemnity pretty cloying.

Here I should lay my own cards on the table. I am not, heaven forbid, a “Holocaust denier.” I lack the scholarly competence to be one. I don’t read German, so I can’t assess the documentary evidence; I don’t know chemistry, so I can’t discuss Zyklon-B; I don’t understand the logistics of exterminating millions of people in small spaces. Besides, “Holocaust denial” is illegal in many countries I may want to visit someday. For me, that’s proof enough. One Israeli writer has expressed his amazement at the idea of criminalizing opinions about historical fact, and I find it puzzling too; but the state has spoken.

Of course those who affirm the Holocaust need know nothing about the German language, chemistry, and other pertinent subjects; they need only repeat what they have been told by the authorities. In every controversy, most people care much less for what the truth is than for which side it’s safer and more respectable to take. They shy away from taking a position that is likely to get them into trouble. Just as only people on the Axis side were accused of war crimes after World War II, only people critical of Jewish interests are accused of thought-crimes in today’s mainstream press.

So, life being as short as it is, I shy away from this controversy. Of course I’m also incompetent to judge whether the Holocaust did happen; so I’ve become what might be called a “Holocaust stipulator.” Like a lawyer who doesn’t want to get bogged down debating a secondary point, I stipulate that the standard account of the Holocaust is true. What is undisputed — the massive violation of human rights in Hitler’s Germany — is bad enough.

What interests me is the growth of what Norman Finkelstein has called “the Holocaust Industry.” True or not, the Holocaust story has been put to many uses, some of them mischievous. It is currently being used to extort reparations and to blacken reputations, for example. Daniel Goldhagen is soon to publish a book blaming the Holocaust on the central teachings of the Catholic Church. This is only the most ambitious project of a school of thought, largely but not exclusively Jewish, that sees Christianity as the source of all “anti-Semitism.”

So if you want to avoid being called “anti-Semitic,” the safest course is to renounce Christianity. Whether this is a safe course for your immortal soul is a question Goldhagen doesn’t address. The important thing is to avoid Jewish censure. Obviously this sort of thinking presupposes Christian fear of the Jews. Jews themselves are not unaware of Jewish power; some of them have rather exaggerated confidence in it.

But the chief use of the Holocaust story is to undergird the legitimacy of the state of Israel. According to this view, the Holocaust proves that Jewish existence is always in danger, unless the Jews have their own state in their own homeland. The Holocaust stands as the historical objectification of all the world’s gentiles’ eternal “anti-Semitism.” Jewish life is an endless emergency, requiring endless emergency measures and justifying everything does in the name of “defense.” Jews and Israel can’t be judged by normal standards, at least until Israel is absolutely safe — if even then. Their circumstances are forever abnormal.

But the daily news reports suggest that Israel may not really be the safest place for Jews. Theodore Herzl’s original dream was of a Jewish state where Jews could at last live the normal lives they were denied in the Diaspora. Yet today it’s Diaspora Jews who live relatively normal lives, at least in the West, while they must worry about the very survival of Israel. And far from being the independent state Herzl hoped for, Israel depends heavily on the support not only of Diaspora Jews but of foreign gentiles, especially Americans.

Israel insists that its “right to exist” is nothing more than the right of every nation on earth to be left in peace. This right is allegedly threatened by fanatical Arabs who want to “drive the Jews into the sea,” as witness the recent wave of Palestinian terror. But in truth, Israel’s claimed “right to exist” is much more than it seems at first sight. It means a right to rule as Jews, enjoying rights denied to native Palestinians.

We are told incessantly that Israel is a “democracy,” and therefore the natural ally of the United States, whose “democratic values” it shares. This is a very dubious claim. To Americans, democracy means majority rule, but with equal rights for minorities. In Israel and the occupied territories, equal rights for the minority are simply out of the question.

Breaker quote: “Democracy” based on inequalityMajority rule itself has taken a peculiar form in Israel. The original Arab majority was driven out of their homes and their native land, and kept out. Meanwhile, a Jewish “majority” was artificially imported. Not only the first immigrants from Eastern Europe, but every Jew on earth was granted a “right of return” — that is, “return” to a “homeland” most have never lived in, and in which none of their ancestors has ever lived. A Jew from Brooklyn (whose grandfather came from Poland) can fly to Israel and immediately claim rights denied to an Arab whose people have always lived in Palestine. In recent years Israel has been augmenting its Jewish majority by vigorously encouraging Jewish immigration, especially from Russia. Ariel Sharon has told a group of American senators that Israel needs a million more Jewish immigrants.

In recent negotiations, Israel has flatly rejected demands for a “right of return” for Palestinians exiled since 1948. It frankly gave as its reason that this would mean “the end of the Jewish state,” since an Arab majority would surely vote down Jewish ethnic privileges. If Israel remained democratic, it wouldn’t long remain Jewish.

This confirms the contention of hard-line Revisionist Zionists from Vladimir Jabotinsky to Meir Kahane that in the long run, Israel must be either Jewish or democratic; it can’t be both. And in order to remain Jewish, it must reject the equal rights for its minorities that Jews everywhere demand where they are a minority. Israel must be the only “democracy” whose existence depends on inequality.

Put otherwise, Zionism is a denial of the “self-evident truths” of the Declaration of Independence. To acknowledge those truths, and to put them into practice, would mean the end of Israel as a Jewish state. Again, honest and rigorous Zionists have always seen and said this.

American gentiles, bemused by the propaganda claim that a beleaguered little democracy is fighting for its very right to exist, are vaguely baffled, unable to comprehend what is before their eyes. They still haven’t figured out that Israeli “democracy” is essentially and radically different from — even repugnant to — what they understand as democracy.

With the verbal sleight-of-hand at which they are masters, the Israelis always appeal to the Holocaust. Maybe they have nuclear weapons, but their existence is threatened — once more! — by rock-throwing Arab boys. The Arabs are the new Nazis, repeating and perpetuating the eternal peril of the Jews. Israel is determined to prevent another Holocaust and must crush the Arab threat by any means necessary, including harsh measures.

Israel without the Holocaust is hard to imagine. But let’s try to imagine it.

Suppose the Holocaust had never occurred, had never been alleged, had never been called “the Holocaust.” Imagine that no great persecution had provided the Jewish state with a special excuse for oppressive emergency measures. In other words, imagine that Israel were forced to justify itself like any other state.

In that case, Israel’s treatment of its Arab minorities would appear to the world in a very different light. Its denial of equal or even basic rights to those minorities would lack the excuse of a past or prospective “Holocaust.” Civilized people would expect it to treat those it ruled with impartial justice — like civilized states. Special privileges for Jews would appear as outrageous discrimination, no different from insulting legal discrimination against Jews. The sense — and excuse — of perpetual crisis would be absent. Israel might be forced or pressured, possibly against its will, to be “normal.” If it chose to be democratic, its Jews would have to take their chance of being outnumbered, just like majorities in other democracies. Nobody would suppose that losing elections would mean their annihilation.

In short, the Holocaust has become a device for exempting Jews from normal human obligations. It has authorized them to bully and blackmail, to extort and oppress. This is all quite irrational, because even if six million Jews were murdered during World War II, it doesn’t follow that the survivors are entitled to commit the slightest injustice. If your father was stabbed in the street, that’s a pity, but it’s not an excuse for picking someone else’s pocket.

In a peculiar way, the Holocaust story has promoted not only pity, but actual fear of the Jews. It has removed them from the universe of normal moral discourse. It has made them victims with nukes. It has made them even more dangerous than their enemies have always charged. It has given the world an Israel ruled by Ariel Sharon.

Benjamin Netanyahu has written that Israel is “an integral part of the West.” I think it would be truer to say that Israel has become a deformed limb of the West.

THE NEW YORK TIMES’ FEATURED SYRIAN REFUGEE OF THE WEEK

Ann Coulter writes:

On Christmas Day — three weeks after the son of a Pakistani immigrant and his Pakistani immigrant bride murdered 14 people in San Bernardino, California — The New York Times told the heartwarming story of “Kamal,” a Syrian refugee who resettled into Houston, Texas, earlier this year and immediately started shopping at Walmart.

The Times considers it tacky when actual Americans go to Walmart, but Muslim immigrants seem to live there, buying nothing but American flags and Christmas trees.

Thus, we’re told Kamal has an outdoor Christmas tree from Walmart, and we find him carrying two trays of cupcakes from Kroger’s for his children’s elementary school holiday party.

Kamal — like the Times — was “angered” by Texans’ reluctance to accept more Syrian refugees. He says of Americans: “Why did you bring me here and why then you let the people hate us?”

We brought you here, Kamal, because the Democrats need voters and the rich need cheap servants.

As for letting “the people” hate refugees, they don’t, but if they did they’d have a right to do so. It goes back to that whole thing with John Locke, John Milton and the English Bill of Rights in 1689. (Of course, in Syria, it’s always the year 400, so this is merely pedagogical.)

The reasons Americans might hate Muslims — although, again, they don’t — include: San Bernardino, the Boston Marathon, Fort Hood, the Chattanooga military recruiting center, 9/11 and the 1993 World Trade Center attacks, and on and on and on.

The Times article itself provides additional clues as to why Texans might not want more Syrian refugees.

According to the Times:

— Kamal refused to let the Times use his last name “because he feared for the safety of his relatives in Syria.”

— In 2011, Kamal was arrested and imprisoned by the Syrian military for protesting against the government. Over the next 14 months, he says, he was tortured with electric shocks and beatings — and the removal of his kidney “as a punishment.”

— He says he didn’t want to relocate to another part of Syria because the Syrians there would “slaughter” him and his family because he drinks alcohol and his wife doesn’t always wear a hijab.

But he’s baffled that Texans are not yelping with joy at the prospect of bringing another 100,000 Syrians here. Why would any country not jump at the chance to admit masses of people who administer electric shocks and remove organs as punishment for protesting the government? We must be crazy!

If anyone hates Syrians, it’s Kamal. He left his home to get 7,000 miles away from Syrians — whom he now wants to bring to the U.S.

By contrast, these are the horrors Kamal has suffered at the hands of Texans, which he shared with the Times: The Texas agriculture commissioner posted pictures of refugees and rattlesnakes on Facebook with the caption: “Can you tell me which of these rattlers won’t bite you?”

Well, can you? Kamal can’t. He voted with his feet by getting the hell out of his entire country, which — again — he now wants to import to Texas, at least according to the Times.

I’m going to give Kamal the benefit of the doubt. (The guy does have a Christmas tree.) Maybe it’s the Ramadan spirit, but I don’t think he does want any more Syrian refugees. Maybe Kamal is only worried about Texans suspecting him, in which case, he ought to be “angered” by the Muslim immigrants who do things that create suspicion, and the U.S. government that insists on bringing in hundreds of thousands more like them.

Only in fiscal years 2009 to 2013, the Obama administration has imported 680,000 immigrants from Muslim-majority countries. In that same time period, the government accepted approximately 12 immigrants from the British Isles.

The media’s persistent attempts to paint sympathetic portraits of the Third-Worlders pouring into America are always exercises in self-contradiction.

On one hand, the Times loves to provide lavishly detailed accounts of the atrocities committed on a daily basis in backward countries in order to pull at readers’ heartstrings. But then they’re shocked when readers don’t respond to descriptions of these medieval cultures by saying, What this country needs is more electric shock torture and organ harvesting of prisoners. How about we bring in some more Syrians?

The day after the Times’ story about Kamal and his trays of cupcakes and rafts of grievances, the paper ran a front-page story about the “flawed justice” — that was in the title — involving a homicidal mob in Afghanistan.

First, the good news: No police officers shot any unarmed black teens. Now, the bad news: A 27-year-old woman, Farkhunda Malikzada, was beaten to death by an enraged mob in Kabul after being falsely accused of burning a Koran.

The Times reports:

“In the videos, Farkhunda seems at first to be screaming in pain from the kicks, but then her body convulses under the blows, and soon she stops moving at all. Even when the mob pulls her into the street and gets a car to run over her, and she is dragged 300 feet, the police stand by.

“By then, she was little more than a clothed mass of blood and bones. Yet still more people came to beat her. One of the most fervent was a young man, Mohammad Yaqoub, who worked at an eyeglasses shop. He heard the crowd as Farkhunda was dragged behind the car and rushed out, eager to join.”

Let’s get Yaqoub here. He can work at Lens Crafters!

But the Times is scratching its head, incredulous that Americans aren’t leaping with ecstasy at the government’s plan to continue dumping these sick, sadistic cultures on us.

Facebook won’t let me link to this story on VDARE.com: Real Arson Hate Crime At A Mosque–Black Muslim Charged

I dig how Facebook tells me that this link is “unsafe.” How kind of them to look out for me like that and keep me from reading material that is “unsafe.” I appreciate how they keep Facebook a safe space in accord with the teachings of the Orthodox rabbis at the Museum of Tolerance who celebrated the Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling with the tweet, “Love wins! #loveislove.” How very Torah of them!

I have the Simon Wiesenthal Center to thank for increasing censorship on Facebook, Youtube and Twitter. If these Orthodox rabbis have their way, they will end free speech in the West and flood it with Muslims.

AP:

“The new rules are definitely an improvement,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Digital Terrorism and Hate Project at the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. “But the question is: Will they be accompanied by a more proactive attitude toward making sure repeat offenders are identified and permanently removed?”

On the Simon Wiesenthal Center website Wiesenthal.com Dec. 15, 2015, Rabbi Abraham Cooper writes:

You’ll notice the difference between John Nolte’s headline on Twitter, and the one used by by the Houston Chronicle:”Man charged with setting Houston mosque fire was a devout attendee”. [Man charged with setting Houston mosque fire was a devout attendee, By Carol Christian and Leah Binkowitz, December 30, 2015]This avoids the use of the word Muslim twice. The suspect, above, is a black American Muslim. He is also described by the Chronicle as a “Houston man”.

A Houston man has been arrested in connection with a suspected arson at a mosque on Christmas Day.

A spokeswoman for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed that the man was arrested early Wednesday, sometime after midnight, and appeared in court 7 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a charging instrument released by the Harris County District Clerk, Moore told investigators at the scene that he has attended the mosque for five years, coming five times per day to pray seven days per week.

Moore told investigators he had been at the mosque earlier on Dec. 25 to pray, and had left at about 2 p.m. to go home. Moore told investigators he was the last person to leave the mosque and saw no smoke or other signs of fire when he left. He had returned to the scene after hearing about the fire from a friend.

Though the suspect said he was a regular at the mosque, MJ Khan, president of the Islamic Society of Greater Houston, which operates the mosque, said he was unfamiliar with Moore. “We are just looking into it ourselves,” he said Wednesday morning after learning of the arrest.

“We are really very surprised and saddened by this whole thing,” said Khan.

Using surveillance video from multiple businesses nearby, investigators were able to identify Moore, according to records. A search warrant of his home was conducted, in which investigators recovered a backpack and clothing that seemingly matched that which was seen in surveillance footage, as well as one half of a two-pack of charcoal lighter fluid bottles that seemed to match another lighter fluid bottle found inside the mosque.

In the document, police referred to him as a “bald-headed, dark-skinned male”, because that’s what the surveillance cameras showed. However, other news sources headline him as “Suspect Arrested” [NBC] and “Worshipper Arrested”[Houston Public Media] and “Man Charged.” (Everybody else.)

Dawn Of The Dead In America’s Malls

Paul Kersey writes: Tarod-ThornhilllTom Singleton, his wife Mary, and their son Dylan went shopping at the Monroeville Mall in Pennsylvania in February 2015. It almost cost them their lives. An argument between two black gangs ended in gunfire. As thugs like these are not known for their accuracy, it was the Singleton family that was shot. Tom’s femoral artery was severed and Mary was struck in the back. [Lawsuit alleges Monroeville Mall owners knew about security risks, by Kaitlin Zurawsky, WTAE, October 16, 2015] The suspect was exactly what you’d expect: black thug named Tarod Thornhill (right) who, despite being only 17, loved posing as a criminal on social media and had a history of gun violations [Monroeville shooting suspect has record of gun violations, by Liz Navratil, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, February 10, 2015]

dawn-of-the-dead-poster-19781Monroeville Mall is famous because it was the setting for the 1978 film Dawn of the Dead. Director George Romero transformed the banal location into a scene of bloody horror. But in today’s America, slaughter and anarchy at a shopping mall is practically cliché. And after Christmas, once again, chaos erupted at shopping malls across America that could have easily led to the kind of violence inflicted on the Singleton family.

The largest riot took place at the Mall St. Matthews in a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky. Although the town is mostly white, thousands of “kids and teens” engaged in a giant brawl, forcing shoppers to find “safe havens” in stores to escape [Louisville Mall Shut Down After 2,000 Kids, Teens Fight, Lex18, December 27, 2015]. One shopper called it the “scariest moment she has ever had” and police radio captures people begging for help [Police radio traffic at Mall St. Matthews: ‘We need help. We need people over here’, by Antoinette Konz, WDRB, December 28, 2015]

The cameras capture mobs of blacks running through the mall as business owners tried to protect their customers [Cameras capture chaos that shut down Mall St. Matthews, by Josh Breslow, WDRB, December 28, 2015]. The scenes uncannily resemble the opening stages of a zombie movie, as the fragile fabric of civilization begins to rip apart and physical safety is no longer taken for granted.

More than fifty officers were dispatched to the mall, which was ultimately evacuated and shut down. Needless to say, no one was arrested [Mall St. Matthews shut down Saturday night after police respond to numerous “riots,” by Fallon Glick, WDRB December 27, 2015]/

And, needless to say, the government and police did not mention the ethnicity of the raceless youths.

In fact, the white mayor of St. Matthews, Rick Tonini [Email him] did his best impression of a Vichy France politician and immediately blamed ennui as the reason black people scared patrons at the mall:

Mayor Tonini says it’s likely the teens didn’t have anything better to do that night, and the mall became the hangout spot. He says he doesn’t believe the kids meant any harm and supports police for not making any arrests.

“When you were 14, 15, or 16 years of age and had nothing to do on a Saturday, you’d look for something to do,” said Mayor Tonini. “I don’t think anyone left their home with the idea that they were going to do any harm. The only real harm that was done was stores had to close early.”

“What are we going to arrest them for — being noisy? There were some kids who were mouthy and a little bit belligerent towards the police,” Tonini said. “I don’t think, in this case arrests would have done anything but incite more panic.”

Obama’s Hypocrisy on the Plight of Middle Eastern Christians

Srdja Trifkovic writes:

“In some areas of the Middle East where church bells have rung for centuries on Christmas Day, this year they will be silent,” President Barack Obama said in a statement on December 23. “This silence bears tragic witness to the brutal atrocities committed against these communities by ISIL.” This is a misleading and hypocritical statement for four main reasons.

(1) Obama singles out the Islamic State (IS, or “ISIL” as he still insists on calling it) as the culprit. He is thus creating the impression that anti-Christian “brutal atrocities” had been absent before the IS made its appearance on the Middle Eastern scene, or that such atrocities are limited to the IS-controlled areas today. This is demonstrably untrue.

It is a matter of historical record that the 75 years preceding the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire in 1922 witnessed a more thorough destruction of the Christian communities in the Middle East than any period following the seventh century Islamic conquest. Thousands of Assyrians were murdered in the province of Mosul in 1850, and in 1860 some 12,000 Christians were put to the sword in Lebanon. Successive slaughters of Armenians in Bayazid (1877), Alashgurd (1879), Sassun (1894), Constantinople (1896), Adana (1909) and Ottoman-ruled Armenia itself (1895–1896) claimed a total of 200,000 lives. They were but rehearsals for the slaughter of 1915-1918, which claimed at least a million lives. Two million Armenians lived in what is now Turkey in 1914; some 3% (ca. 60,000) remain today. The proof of the genocide is in the numbers.

Further south, the slaughter of Christians in Alexandria in 1881 was but a rehearsal for the famine induced by the Turks in 1915–1916 that killed over 100,000 Maronite Christians in Lebanon and Syria. So imminent and ever-present was the peril, and so fresh the memory of these events in the minds of the non-Muslims, that illiterate Christian mothers dated events as so many years before or after “such and such a massacre.” Across the Middle East, the bloodshed of 1915–1922 crippled ancient Christian communities and cultures that had survived since Roman times. The carnage peaked with the destruction of Pontic Greeks after World War I had ended.

In recent years, the exodus of Iraq’s Christian community was near-complete years before the IS appeared. The Christian community in Iraq was up to 1.5 million strong before the U.S.-led invasion of 2003. Four-fifths of them are estimated to have left the country in recent years following a relentless string of attacks by Islamic extremists. Their numbers were down to 500,000 in 2009, and as low as 200,000 in mid-2014. While they were still there, the U.S. forces did next to nothing to protect them. Ever since they were reconstituted after the occupation, the Iraqi army and police have been either unable or unwilling to do so.

(2) Policies pursued by the Obama Administration have been consistently detrimental to the position of the Christian remnant in the Middle East. In Egypt it supported the Muslim Brotherhood government under Mohamed Morsi (2012-2013). Hillary Clinton in particular behaved like its chief apologist and abettor, even though the Islamist regime had acted swiftly, unconstitutionally and illegally to turn the country into an Islamic republic. This would have spelled disaster for some 9 million Copts—the largest Christian community in the Middle East—who had already experienced a massive escalation of lethal violence during the Brotherhood’s brief tenure. Instead of condemning the attacks, on November 28, 2012, Hillary Clinton’s right-hand woman Victoria Nuland declared that Morsi was seeking dialogue “with other stakeholders in Egypt” and that he was not an autocrat. Until the very end—until General Sisi’s July 2013 coup, that is—the Administration had tried to force Egypt’s generals not to challenge Morsi’s usurpation of full authority.

In Syria the Obama administration remains committed to supporting the rebels, although there are no “moderates” among them: all meaningful forces on the ground are Sunni fundamentalists who persecute Christians. According to a (London) Daily Telegraph report from last January, the Turkish-supported rebels “had shown both purpose and glee in their destruction of Christian sites” in the town of Kessab, in the Latakia province, from which all 2,500 Christian residents were forced to flee. Even NPR reported last July that “the Coalition has extremists in its own ranks who have mistreated Christians and forced them out of their homes.”

Government-controlled parts of Syria are the country’s only regions where its 2.5 million Christians are safe from religious persecution, and where they are treated as equals with their Muslim neighbors. The regime’s downfall would be followed by massive carnage, by new waves of refugees heading west, and by the imposition of a jihadist dictatorship. Whether it would be controlled by the al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra front—the dominant opposition fighting force—or by ISIS would be irrelevant to the Christians who would be murdered, exiled, or enslaved under sharia dhimmitude. That the Obama administration persists in its single-minded support for this grim scenario indicates the extent to which it is indifferent to the fate of Syria’s Christians, Obama’s rhetoric notwithstanding.

Oliver Letwin blamed ‘bad moral attitudes’ for widespread rioting in black areas

The Telegraph:

Oliver Letwin, the Government’s policy chief, is under scrutiny for remarks he made about the morals of the black community in the wake of widespread rioting in the 1980s.
Mr Letwin was drawn into a race row after government papers showed he blamed “bad moral attitudes” for the rioting in black inner-city areas.
The Cabinet Office minister, then an adviser to Margaret Thatcher, suggested in a 1987 memorandum that white communities would not have resorted to the same street violence as seen in Brixton, Toxteth and Handsworth.
Papers in the National Archives released today under the 30-year rule reveal that Mr Letwin, who was in the No 10 policy unit, also dismissed proposals to foster a new class of black entrepreneurs, saying they would simply set up in the “disco and drug trade”.

THE GUARDIAN:

“Downing Street files released on Wednesday by the National Archives include a confidential joint paper by Letwin and Booth in which they told Thatcher that “lower-class unemployed white people had lived for years in appalling slums without a breakdown of public order on anything like the present scale”.

The men also warned Thatcher that setting up a £10m communities programme to tackle inner-city problems would do little more than “subsidise Rastafarian arts and crafts workshops”.

Their intervention followed a warning from the home secretary, Douglas Hurd, that alienated youth, predominantly black, in the inner cities represented “a grave threat to the social fabric” of the country. The two persuaded Thatcher to dismiss suggestions from Hurd and two other cabinet ministers, Kenneth Baker and Lord Young, to tackle the problem, and instead insisted what was needed was measures to tackle absent fathers, moral education and an end to state funding of leftwing activists.

Hurd told Thatcher in a confidential minute that the government might have to reconcile itself to the fact that “a number of our cities now contain a pool of several hundred young people who we have not educated, whom it may not be possible to employ, and who are antagonistic to all authority. We need to think hard to prevent the pool being constantly replenished.”

“The root of social malaise is not poor housing, or youth ‘alienation’ or the lack of a middle class,” they advised Thatcher. “Lower-class unemployed white people had lived for years in appalling slums without a breakdown of public order on anything like the present scale; in the midst of depression, people in Brixton went out, leaving their grocery money in a bag at the front door, and expecting to see groceries when they got back.

“Riots, criminality and social disintegration are caused solely by individual characters and attitudes. So long as bad moral attitudes remain, all efforts to improve the inner cities will founder. David Young’s new entrepreneurs will set up in the disco and drug trade.”

Instead their prescription was to reinforce the family through the law and tax, to set up “old-fashioned independent religious schools” and to change attitudes to personal responsibility, honesty, and the police from an early age including a new moral “youth corps”.

In a statement on Tuesday night Letwin said: “I want to make clear that some parts of a private memo I wrote nearly 30 years ago were both badly worded and wrong. I apologise unreservedly for any offence these comments have caused and wish to make clear that none was intended.”

Everybody’s Racist

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* There’s a translation of what he actually said here. He talked about r/K selection theory, which Rushton used to describe racial differences:

In Africa the so-called small r strategy prevails, which aims for as high a growth rate as possible. There the so-called dissemination type dominates. And in Europe generally the large K strategy is followed that tries to make optimal use of the capacities of the living space. Here is where the placeholder type lives. Simply stated, evolution has given Africa and Europe two different reproduction strategies, very easily understandable for any biologist. The difference between the African and European birthrates will be strengthened further by the spirit of decadence that has Europe firmly in its grip. In short, in the 21st century, the life-affirming African dissemination type meets the self-abnegating European placeholder type. This insight calls for a fundamental re-orientation of the asylum and immigration policies of Germany and Europe.

My own opinion is that it’s unfortunate he would have brought this up. It might be true, but western societies are a *long* way away from being able to talk about it. Whereas, if he had just stuck to the facts on the ground about the different reproductive rates, maybe the reactions wouldn’t have been so vociferous.

That’s not to say he deserves anything like the smearing he’s getting from the NYT — of course he doesn’t.

* Careful there New York Times. Search through your photo archives and you might find a picture of former German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer wearing a hoodie with his face contorted in anger and his fist inches from the face of a German police officer. Before John Kerry was an immaculately coiffed gigolo in a bespoke suit he was a scruffy street fighting man. Go back in time and many of today’s leftist establishment figures looked more like the crowd at a Grateful Dead concert than the Beltway or Brussels insider of today!

* Isn’t it about time for everyone to just say ‘we are all race-ists’?

The world would be far more honest.

Liberals, Libertarians, Socialists, and so-called Conzos are all hiding behind abstract principles of justice and blah blah. But only fools TRULY believe in abstract principles and such nonsense and pursue them to the end of the world. And such sucker folks never amount to anything cuz one cannot build or gain power based on such nonsense.
People with real minds and real sense pursue power for tribal and/or individual reasons. That’s it. It’s either about the ethno or it’s about the ego.
Of course, it’s generally bad form nowadays to wave the national flag or admit to one’s own ambition and ‘greed’, so the smart and savvy cover up their egoism and ethnocentrism behind lofty rhetoric of universalism. That Zucky who made billions from Facebook and is a very proud Jew pretends to care soooooo much about those poor poor Muslims!!

Furthermore, power will always be problematic since it can never be equally shared among every individual and among every ethnic group. Some individuals are smarter, luckier, and more ambitious. Others are dumb or lazy. So, some will rise much higher than others. A Libertarian will say that is justice since the winners deserved to win. But the envious mob will never accept this and always look for excuses to blame the rich for having benefited with unfair advantages. (In some ways, such whining has a way of advantaging the powerful. If the NYT went HBD and said, “well, the reason why so many blacks and browns lag is because they have lower IQ and there is NOTHING that can be done about it.” This will make blacks and browns angry and frustrated and filled with bitter resentment. They might get violent. But as long as NYT keeps offering hope after hope, the lagging mob is fooled and calmed with the promise that, gee, maybe the next program will finally bridge the gap and perform miracles. HBD has a finality about it. It says ‘you are dumb and doomed to fail’. Without hope, people can get very angry and bitter, and NY elites don’t want that.)
Also, even if the rich did rise meritocratically, their children are born to privilege. Also, the rich get to buy politicians and do all the nefarious things that come with money and privilege.
So, is leftism the answer? No. Leftism is like a prison system that forces all to be equal. Imagine a race where everyone is made to pass the finish line together as co-winners. That is equal but coercive and bogus. Worse, in time, the elites of a leftist order become like the commie elites that became the new pigs like in Orwell’s Animal Farm.

Also, only suckers pursue abstract principles of universality with dimwit sincerity. Power is about gaining advantage for the individual or the nation/tribe. You cannot gain power for everyone around the world. Power is never universal. All power comes at the expense of others. While some tides can lift many boats, some boats will always rise much much higher, and some will inevitably sink. There’s no way to have Israel without hurting Palestinians. There’s no way to appease blacks in the US without hurting whites. There’s no way to satisfy homos without offending others, and so on. So, there is no such thing as power for all. Power is always about a contest of ‘more for us, and less for you’.

Blacks talk about justice but they just want more power for blacks, and black individuals want more power for themselves. They don’t care about every brother and sister. Look at black athletes and rappers. Do they share their wealth? No.
Jews talk about equality all the time, but they get richer and richer while rest fall behind. Homos are all about homo power. Mexicans talk the talk of ‘inclusion’ and ‘diversity is our strength’, but their main reason for pushing open borders is MORE MEXICANS FOR MORE MEXICAN POWER. It’s just how it is. All such groups hide behind the rhetoric of universalism to push their own tribal or individual agenda.
And white urban gentry are subconsciously quasi-tribalist and/or egoist. They are so into themselves. Outwardly, they are far more ‘sensitive’ and ‘caring’ than their parents and grandparents who were more like Archie Bunkers. But in their personal lives, they are far more choosy, finicky, perfectionist, and exclusive. Archie Bunker may not be very ‘nice’, but he was happy to marry a nice ordinary woman. And Ralph and Alice Kramden may not be the most sensitive saints, but they are happy with one another. But look at urban gentry types. They talk the talk of ‘sensitivity’ but in their personal lives, almost no one is good enough for them. And even in the stuff they buy, they can’t just go to some regular store. They gotta go to some specialty store. I’ve went shopping with some of these friends, and I wanna strangle them. They are so PC but they refuse to shop where the schmoes shop.
And what is all that Section 8 stuff about? These Libs don’t fool me. It really comes to ‘more blacks for you, less for us.’ But of course, they hide this agenda behind lofty rhetoric of ‘inclusion’ and ‘integration’(for others).

This is why race-ism and fascism are the most honest ideology. We can at least let’s be honest about what we want.
After all, even liberals and leftists who claim to be totally colorblind have their preferences and biases. Notice how some on the Left(of the BDS community) get all riled up about evil Zionists but are utterly silent about a lot of other tyranny around the world.
And in the 80s, remember how most Libs prioritized blacks in South Africa while remaining mum about Palestinians.
Notice how white libs generally favor blacks and homos over all other groups. When blacks riot and burn down cities(and messed up the store of the victim of Michael Brown), do you hear white libs ever complain about the violence? No. So, they have their Bias of Compassion too. Certain groups get more of their compassion than others do. Many Arab Christians have been getting slaughtered since Iraq War, but there’s been near total silence in the progressive community.

Bias of Compassion is a kind of tribalism or projected tribalism.
If American Conservatives outsource their tribalism to Israel, American White Liberals outsource their repressed tribalism to certain groups that are favored over other groups. After all, we almost never see White Liberals express equal compassion for everyone around the world. Instead, certain groups get MORE compassion and support, especially based on the ‘cool’ factor. Why do Jews, Negroes, and Homos get more support and compassion? A lot of Libs admire Jewish comedians and writers. A lot of Libs find black musicians and athletes badass. A lot of Libs find homo to be so ‘creative’. So, even though Libs claim to be about ‘equality’, they favor certain groups for extra compassion based on their signs of superiority.

But what about suffering Iranians due to US-enforced sanctions? The hell with them since they are ‘uncool’.
All forms of compassion are unfair since they favor some over others.
During the 80s, many of us felt compassion for brave Mujahadeen warriors who were fighting the Soviet Empire. But what we were not told was that these warriors targeted many innocent victims such as school girls whose education was seen as blasphemy according to arch-Islamic law.
Also, many Leftists in the 60s felt compassion for the Vietnamese communists as brave warriors but overlooked all the victims of communist atrocities. That’s how compassion works. One may take leave of one’s own tribalism in feeling compassion for others people, but in a divided world, one cannot equally feel compassion for all because to side with people is to side against another people who are at odds with the ones you’ve sided with. This is why Lawrence of Arabia goes batty. It’s like the scene where he has to kill the dumb ragger. Lawrence got to like him and earlier, even saved him from the hot desert at great risk to himself. But he has to side with the idea of Arab unity, and so he has to kill the poor slob. Also, his siding with Arabs makes him hostile to Turks, and he must feel no sympathy for them even as they mowed down mercilessly.
Same with animal world. If you sympathize with lions, you have to overlook the fact that lions ruthlessly destroy OTHER creatures.

Also, there is the power of narrative. Though Liberal Narrative claims to favor the victimized and oppressed, all historical narratives are extremely selective and distorted. Also, which Narrative gets special attention depends on who has control over the media and academia. White Americans killed many more American Indians and Vietnamese than blacks, but blacks get more compassion because the controlled Narrative favors them. And many more Conservatives were blacklisted and destroyed by PC than commies were destroyed by McCarthy, but the ‘victims’ of McCarthy have gotten far more compassion since the controlled Narrative lionizes them.

And of course, if we look behind all these narratives, they are really controlled to serve certain ETHNIC interests. They are not for serving all people. After all, some of those victims of McCarthy supported Stalin who killed millions of Ukrainians. But that is conveniently swept under the rug since it serves a certain ethnic group better to make McCarthy out to have been worse than Stalin.

* Its the Calvinism stupid. Calvinism is the Crack Cocaine for White people. The way the Crack Epidemic started off a wave of ultra violence in the Black community? Because Black people really, really liked getting high off cocaine? And would pay for it? Well Calvinism, the idea that some White people are innately, selected by God or Destiny, better than other White people and predestined for Heaven or History? Well that is the Crack Cocaine for White people. No one seems to able to stop it.

The status one-upmanship among White people makes us uniquely vulnerable to Calvinism, allowing us a sense of belonging to a predestined group of “saved” shown by their material success to have God’s or History’s favor, and igniting instead of simple status rivalry a desire to destroy. Utterly. Because God and History are on their side. Instead of just being this year’s champions.

As noted above in the thread, Muslims and Africans in public housing and the like are “vibrant” and the “soul of the community” but Whites in public housing are loser scum to be eliminated. How very … Calvinist.

Of course, racism is just the result of White people living with non-Whites with radically and incompatibly different ideas of how to live. Whites and Chinese and Koreans, don’t have much conflict in places like Portland or Seattle or Vancouver because their values while different are not incompatible — Christmas is celebrated in Japan and China and Korea, not as extensively as here but they like a party. Needless to say the Muslim No Fun League does not celebrate Christmas nor really do Africans who can’t get the idea of the Winter Solstice.

There are not many Calvinists in places like Alabama, while ultra White Vermont is Bernie (Calvinist) Sanders country. Put enough non Whites in Germany, and you’ll get a nation of Paul Kerseys or Outlaw Josey Wales. Not neo Nazis but even worse for Calvinists — Old West Style Outlaws who just don’t give a damn.

There is a reason millions of people around the world mourned the death of Lemmy of Motorhead. For those without the Pajamboy Gene or Blue Haired Fattie Feminist leanings, being an Outlaw is the easier and often default choice. Harley Davidson does not exactly push a conformist image.

* Spying might also explain some unusual Supreme Court votes. In the “bad old days,” J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI had “the goods” on some many Members of Congress and political appointees that he could do basically everything he wanted to. Now that power may lie within NSA.

* They haven’t jettisoned him yet, and it’s doubtful they can. The thing with the AfD is, there are several factions and Höcke is one of the leaders of the more explicitly nationalist faction. There has been feuding in the AfD for quite some time and one of the party’s founders Bernd Lucke and his followers actually left the party last summer because they thought Höcke’s wing was getting too powerful (they more or less claimed the party had been infiltrated by crypto-Nazis, though what they cited as evidence was mostly pretty ridiculous). Now there’s feuding between the new party leader Frauke Petry (who defenestrated Lucke with Höcke’s aid) and Höcke. To some degree criticism of Höcke may even be justified, he isn’t a Nazi, but he’s a German nationalist who strongly dislikes many aspects of Germany’s “Westernization” (though those “values” like multiculturalism etc. are probably also strongly disliked by many people in “Western” core nations like Britain, France and the US…), that’s of course a big no-go in Germany. He also has a tendency for silly theatrics and wants the AfD to be a “Fundamentalopposition”, that is in total opposition to the existing political system (which doesn’t look like a strategy for success…). And his stuff about r- and k-strategies is almost universally seen as crude biological racism (anti-racism in public discourse may be even stronger in Germany than in the US though in personal interactions Germans are probably more “racist” and xenophobic than white Americans). I’m somewhat ambivalent about the issue…I don’t like how some people from the AfD enthusiastiacally distance themselves from Höcke, that reeks of cowardice and political correctness; on the other hand, Höcke might eventually really go too far and turn out to be a hindrance to further success.

* How do we make the argument in our social circles that a white racial/ethnic pride movement doesn’t have to result in National Socialism, Apartheid, or Jim Crow? This case is a perfect example – a fairly moderate white school teacher tries to initiate a discussion, but then is immediately branded a NeoNazi by the NYT.

The problem is that most widely known historical examples of a white ethnic/racial movements are associated with some kind of genocide/segregation/apartheid. In the minds of most people, white/ethnic pride movements are synonymous with those things. I suppose that the Renaissance/Humanism could be considered a white racial/ethnic pride movement, but that is mostly associated with rebellion from the Church.

Trump is slowly starting to make it possible to have those discussions here, but its still limited to the fringes. I suppose I see Trump as a kind of political John-the-Baptist. His purpose is not to bring redemption to the white/middle class America, but rather to prepare the way for the One Who Will.

* The western world is being cleansed from the bottom up with the bottom 1/3 targeted first.

Hence why anti-immigration sentiment was dominated by that demographic.

Now we’re moving into the phase where the middle 1/3 are cleansed so the mid-point of the anti-immigration demographic will shift upwards.

* Slaves didn’t want to play ball. Many of the freed slaves that went to Liberia met an unpleasant fate at the hands of their distant relatives. Plus, constructing an European society in Africa using freed slaves was a harder proposition than perhaps it first appeared. Word got out among the black population, our homies don’t want us. Apparently, there are some things worse than the southern slave system though never speak such things to a tenured academic.

* I remember a certain Senator McCarthy going after communists in the CIA in ’54, how’d things work out for him?

And Frank Church got re-elected, right?

WP: Her attacker forced her to make a phone call during a rape — so she called 911

Washington Post:

A woman who was told to call her boyfriend during a sexual assault instead contacted 911 — a decision that authorities in Georgia say helped police track down the suspect and stop the attack.

Robert Giles, 27, was charged in connection to Monday’s incident, according to a news release from police in Clayton County, Ga.

Authorities believe Giles wanted his victim’s boyfriend to listen as he attacked her, the release states.

Instead of calling her boyfriend, police say the woman called 911, where an emergency dispatcher managed to play the part. The dispatcher pretended that the woman had done as she was told, and sent police to the scene, WSB-TV reported.

“(It was) the most extreme call of my career,” the 911 operator, Deonte Smith, told WSB-TV.

Officers who responded were able to “quickly place Giles under arrest,” according to the release. Giles was stopped “mid-act,” Sgt. Ashanti Marbury told The Post in an email.

Bernie’s A Mensch

Comments to Steve Sailer:

* Bernie’s a mench, you couldn’t do better than to elect this guy. He’s like a Jewish version of Trump. A man of the people standing up to the oligarchs who finance and control American politics. I give both of these men a lot of credit for having the balls in 2015 to stand up to what we’re up against. Patriots both of them.

* Sanders at least got Trump to flip on his call for lower wages:

After previously saying wages were “too high,” Trump instead stressed Monday that they were actually “too low.”

In the Monday-morning tweet, Trump also said that good jobs were “too few” and that people had “lost faith in our leaders.”

The apparent shift came after Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), a Democratic presidential candidate, said in a Sunday interview that his message would resonate among Trump’s working-class supporters.

“Look, many of Trump’s supporters are a working-class people, and they’re angry,” Sanders said on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” according to the show’s transcript. “And they’re angry because they’re working longer hours for lower wages. They’re angry because their jobs have left this country and gone to China or other low-wage countries.”

Sanders added: “In fact, he has said that he thinks wages in America are too high.”

Trump first responded Sunday by accusing Sanders of lying:

.@BernieSanders-who blew his campaign when he gave Hillary a pass on her e-mail crime, said that I feel wages in America are too high. Lie!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 27, 2015

Trump, however, has indeed said that wages — among many other things in the US — are too high.

In a Fox Business Network debate in November, Trump used his opening statement to say, “Taxes too high, wages too high. We’re not going to be able to compete against the world.”

And Trump doubled down on his position during a “Morning Joe” interview the day after that debate.

“It’s a tough position politically,” Trump acknowledged on the MSNBC show. “We have to become competitive with the world. Our taxes are too high — our wages are too high. Everything is too high. We have to compete with other countries.”

* When Trump said wages are too high I think he meant that the current minimum wage is too high because it makes some people in our society unemployable (teenagers for example). Or maybe he meant that wages were too high given that we haven’t started taxing imports from low-wage countries like China and Mexico because, absent those taxes, American manufacturers are uncompetitive.

* The surveillance super state of the future (see the command base in Utah) will prevent anyone like Trump from ever running again. It’s not just a lack of funds that force the other candidates to mouth acceptable boilerplate only. It’s a total lack of privacy.

The granular detail available in opposition research is already jaw dropping. I wonder how many state sponsored hackers have backdoored Trump’s phone.

* Really? You want to put a socialist in charge of a federal bureaucracy of true socialist believers and you think that the result will be better off than what we have from “the oligarchs who finance and control American politics“? Have you never heard of tyranny or absolutism? Do you think Sanders won’t stomp your face forever with the boot of socialist ‘right-thinking’?

Bernie will enable the jackbooted bureaucrats to ensure that wrong thinking results in the loss not only of your position or business, but also of your house. So if destitution is your desire, or grovelling before your ‘superiors’ is your preference, then Bernie is your man.

If you are in doubt about the results, consult the Oregon bakers that were not only deprived of their business, but also their home – just because they wouldn’t bake a cake for a privileged minority.

* All the single women I know are big Sanders supporters. I guess they want to be able to rely on the state since they don’t have a husband.

* You may stop believing in God, but the belief in God doesn’t go away. By this I mean that belief in God has been and remains a tremendous force in history. For example it propels phenomena like Isis, though whether the God of Muhammad is the same God Christians have traditionally believed in — and to a much lesser extent believe in today — is questionable.

People who don’t believe in God, including most educated people in the West, fail to appreciate these realities. Thus in today’s studies in history, whether in public schools or in our leading universities, it is seldom recognized, let alone explored, that the idea of God is easily the most influential idea in Western intellectual history — accounting for such things as the contemporary liberal idea that all people are pretty much the same everywhere, or the idea, shared by both liberals and conservatives, that political liberty and social justice, including equality under the law, are central to our culture and civilization.

* My lefty relatives have started hitting on the “Trump went bankrupt!” meme quite a bit lately. I guess I am supposed to see it as a character flaw or something.

When I ask them whether it was Chapter 7, 11, or 13, a reorg or liquidation, they just give a blank look.

As best I can figure, the bankruptcy talking point was first formulated and circulated back in August or September.

Oddly enough, they as lefties they condemn the no-bankruptcy-for-college-loans law from a few years ago. As the Brits say, “any stick will do to beat the dog”.
