He\u2019s got a book out called Tribe about community..can\u2019t even define tribe \u2013 no reference to extended family or race..jeesh. Does he have any idea where the aboriginal tribes came from?<\/p>\n<p>He said our tribes need to be more diverse. Gah.<\/p>\n<p>* If you&#8217;re waiting for a kumbaya moment don\u2019t hold your breath. Nature doesn&#8217;t care for them.<\/p>\n<p>* I actually, know him. He\u2019s complex, and a very good guy. He is extremely intense and, in my opinion, may not \u201cpresent well\u201d on TV. His books are good. When he was a graduate student in the mid 80\u2032s he wrote a very good book which is unlike any of his \u201cWar\u201d books (or movie) of the last 10 or so years, \u201cThe Perfect Storm.\u201d Anyway, Junger is a free spirit, beholden to no ideological camp. He is more a cultural anthropologist in his approach to the idea of \u201ctribe.\u201d He goes into the philosophy of the idea of \u201ctribe,\u201d not origin\u2026does that make sense?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Comment: Anyone see this author Sebastian Junger on PBS Newshour?
