New software can tell if you are anything from a paedophile to an ace poker player by analysing your features"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-3606811\/Can-spot-terrorist-just-looking-face-Israeli-company-claims-predict-paedophiles-geniuses-ace-poker-players-analysing-features.html?ito=social-twitter_mailonline\">Daily Mail<\/a>: A company claims it can identify terrorists, paedophiles and ace poker players simply by looking at their face.<br \/>\nFaception, an Israeli start-up, says its technology can spot character traits that are undetectable to the naked eye.<br \/>\nThe company claims its software classified nine of the 11 Paris massacre jihadists as terrorists from their facial features without inputting any prior knowledge of their involvement.<br \/>\nIt appears to have been so successful, the firm says it is now working with a homeland security agency to help identify criminals.<br \/>\nShai Gilboa, Faception chief executive, said: &#8216;We understand the human much better than other humans understand each other.<br \/>\n&#8216;Our personality is determined by our DNA and reflected in our face. It&#8217;s a kind of signal.&#8217;<br \/>\nThe firm, which was founded in Tel Aviv in 2014, has developed a database of 15 classifiers which Gilboa says are used to determine personality traits with 80 per cent accuracy&#8230;<br \/>\nThe Faception website says: &#8216;Utilising advanced machine-learning techniques, we developed and continue to evolve an array of classifiers.<br \/>\n&#8216;These classifiers represent a certain persona, with a unique personality type, a collection of personality traits or behaviours.<br \/>\n&#8216;Our algorithms can score an individual according to their fit to these classifiers.&#8217;<br \/>\nHowever, experts questioned whether the technology could lead to a Minority Report-style system of justice where people are placed under suspicion before they have even committed an offence.<br \/>\nThey also warn that such software is often only as accurate as the information that is programmed in in the first place.<br \/>\nPedro Domingos, a professor of computer science at the University of Washington, said: &#8216;Can I predict that you&#8217;re an axe murderer by looking at your face and therefore should I arrest you?<br \/>\n&#8216;You can see how this would be controversial.&#8217;<br \/>\nGilboa says the company will never make his classifiers that predict negative traits available to the public.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daily Mail: A company claims it can identify terrorists, paedophiles and ace poker players simply by looking at their face.
