* Vigilance by who, though? Our own government apparently wants to trade us in for a better, at least browner, model. They\u2019re even bringing in white-collar replacements. Our factories have been shipped overseas and most endure Americans squat wages in menial service jobs. We are, in the public square, at best butts of vicious jibes, at worst racist monsters awaiting po\u2019, put-upon targets of opportunity who are genuine victims the way tulips are rocks. Never have our political and economic elites had more open contempt for us. To protect something \u2013 like us \u2013 it must be valued. Our betters apparently feel they have nothing to protect.<\/p>\n

* How the hell did these folks manage this trip? They had to cross the Atlantic \u2013 granted at its narrowest point, but still a long way across open ocean. Then, assuming they arrived in Northeast Brazil, they had to cross the widest part of that large country, including the most remote part of the continent. (Despite Brazil being a racially mixed nation, French-speaking Africans would stand out there.) They crossed into Colombia, where Africans would stand out even more, basically in the middle of the Amazon jungle.<\/p>\n

Somehow, they made it over the Cordillera to reach the Panama border, which is another remote corner of the world and one infested with various nefarious characters.<\/p>\n

I am in no way suggesting that we should should let them in when I say that I admire their persistence, fortitude and resourcefulness.<\/p>\n

Well, that is, unless they flew they whole way. Obviously, they must have had help, but who? And what kind of help?<\/p>\n

An odyssey like this calls for some sort of explanation.<\/p>\n
