REPORT<\/a>: A CNN debate between a Donald Trump<\/strong> supporter and former Ted Cruz<\/b> communications director Amanda<\/b> Carpenter<\/b> went off the rails Friday when the Trump supporter suddenly accused Carpenter of having an illicit affair with her former boss.<\/p>\n

CNN’s Kate Bolduan <\/b>was hosting a segment on the feud between Trump and Ted Cruz<\/b>. \u201cAre you ready for Trump to move on?\u201d she asked Boston Herald <\/i>columnist Adriana Cohen<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, absolutely I think we should move on,\u201d she responded. \u201cWhere we should move to is The National Enquirer<\/i> story that has reported that has Ted Cruz has had affairs with five mistresses, including you’ve been named as well, Amanda.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don’t think that’s ‘moving on’ at all, Adriana,\u201d an exasperated Bolduan interrupted.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we’re going call Donald Trump’s character into question, I would like Ted Cruz to issue a statement whether or not the National Enquirer<\/em> story is true, that he has had affairs with many women, including you were named, Amanda,\u201d Cohen repeated. \u201cWill you denounce this story or will you confirm it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Bolduan stepped in to make it clear that CNN wasn’t supporting the Enquirer<\/i> <\/i>report. \u201cIt will come as no surprise to our viewers, CNN has no reporting on what you’re talking about coming from from The National Enquirer,<\/i>\u201d she deadpanned.<\/p>\n

Carpenter kept her composure pretty well, considering the circumstances. \u201cWhat’s out there is tabloid trash. If someone wants to comment on it, they can talk to my lawyer,\u201d she responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s categorically fault,\u201d she continued angrily. \u201cYou should be ashamed for spreading this smut. Donald Trump supporters should be held to account for it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m not spreading smut,\u201d Cohen responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will not be intimidated,\u201d Carpenter shot back. \u201cI will continue to make my thoughts known about Donald Trump. I’m not backing down.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
