"But I want to know what you think," he pressed.<\/p>\n
My response was that I didn’t care what I think. I wanted to know what the Jewish tradition says on this question.<\/p>\n
Later that night, I pressed an Orthodox rabbi into a theological discussion. Did he believe that God intervened in our daily lives? Are good things more likely to happen if we pray for them?<\/p>\n
He responded by citing various statements from the Talmud.<\/p>\n
