Rather, Obama is cautious.<\/p>\n<p>So far I believe his presidency is a disaster.<\/p>\n<p><A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/03\/06\/us\/politics\/06web-baker.html?_r=1&#038;hp=&#038;pagewanted=print\">From the New York Times<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON &mdash; As he introduced his new choice for secretary of health and human services in the East Room this week, <a title=\"More articles about Barack Obama.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/people\/o\/barack_obama\/index.html?inline=nyt-per\">President Obama<\/a> turned his head from right to left, but he wasn&rsquo;t looking at the audience. He was reading from two teleprompters, strategically set up outside the tight television camera shot.<\/p>\n<p>When he was done, the teleprompters quietly began retracting down to the floor. As she stepped forward to make her own remarks, his nominee, <a title=\"More articles about Kathleen Sebelius.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/people\/s\/kathleen_sebelius\/index.html?inline=nyt-per\">Kathleen Sebelius<\/a>, seemed momentarily surprised.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Don&rsquo;t mind the little&mdash;&mdash;  &ldquo; Mr. Obama said with a smile.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s disappearing!&rdquo; she joked.<\/p>\n<p>Presidents have been using teleprompters for more than half a century, but none relied on them as extensively as Mr. Obama has so far. While presidents typically have used them for their most important speeches to the nation &mdash; an inauguration, a State of the Union or an Oval Office address &mdash; Mr. Obama uses them for everyday routine announcements, and even for the opening statement at his news conference.<\/p>\n<p>He used them during a visit to a Caterpillar plant in Peoria, Ill. He used them to make brief remarks at the opening of his &ldquo;fiscal responsibility summit.&rdquo; He used them during a visit to the <a title=\"More articles about Interior Department, U.S.\" href=\"http:\/\/topics.nytimes.com\/top\/reference\/timestopics\/organizations\/i\/interior_department\/index.html?inline=nyt-org\">Interior Department<\/a> to discuss endangered species, even as he recalled a visit to some national parks as an 11-year-old. &ldquo;That was an experience I will never forget,&rdquo; he said, reading from the teleprompter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wanted to take a cheap shot here and say this shows Obama is just an empty suit but I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s the bottom line here.
