Doug Ducey asking him to reverse his stand on barring Syrian refugees from entering Arizona. Nancy Montoya talks with Rabbi Samuel Cohon of Temple Emanu-El about why he joined every Rabbi in Southern Arizona in signing the letter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst of all as Jews we understand what it means to be refugees perhaps better than any other people in history,\u201d Cohon said.<br \/>\nCohon joined 10 other southern Arizona rabbis in sending a letter to the governor asking him not to give in to fear.<br \/>\n\u201cWe are all immigrants, and most of us were refugees when we came to America,\u201d Cohon said.<br \/>\nMore than 30 other governors also asked that Muslim refugees from Syria not to be sent to their states.<br \/>\n\u201cThe bad news is that our own state\u2019s governor chose to join that mistaken parade,\u201d Cohon said.<br \/>\nSo far, the governor\u2019s office has not responded to the rabbis.
