Joerg Lau, the foreign editor for Die Zeit in Berlin, explains a few things. Why, Germany is taking in almost a million migrants this year, and we expect America to do its fair share. Instead, Trump\u2019s Islamophobic remarks could start these perfectly nice Muslims down the road to alienation. NPR\u2019s reporter seems to understand the point \u2014 the recent troubles really are Trump\u2019s fault.<\/p>\n

Continuing the irony-free discussion, Mr. Lau wistfully points out that in Germany, Trump would have been arrested by now on a charge of Incitement. Obviously, the U.S. has much to learn from its ally about the free exchange of ideas.<\/p>\n
