There is a new university Vice President for the University Community. There is a new academic department of Native American Students. Each college has a multicultural director reporting directly to the deans. Minority freshman enrollment went up by 8% and African American freshman enrollment went up by 10%.<\/p>\n We are still a work in progress, but we are determined to send a message to the rest of America that zero tolerance is the only way to stop the cancer of racism. Each of us has an individual responsibility to speak out every single time we encounter discrimination and racist remarks. We cannot remain silent.
