From Al-Anon<\/a>: <\/p>\n

Just for today, I will try to live through this day only,
\n and not tackle my whole life problem
\n at once. I can do something for twelve hours
\n that would appall me if I felt that I had to
\n keep it up for a lifetime. <\/p>\n

Just for today, I will be happy. This assumes to
\n be true what Abraham Lincoln said, that
\n “most folks are as happy as they make up
\n their minds to be.” <\/p>\n

Just for today, I will try to strengthen my mind.
\n I will study. I will learn something useful.
\n I will not be a mental loafer. I will read
\n something that requires effort, thought and
\n concentration. <\/p>\n

Just for today, I will adjust myself to what is,
\n and not try to adjust everything to my own
\n desires. I will take my “luck” as it comes,
\n and fit myself to it. <\/p>\n

Just for today, I will exercise my soul in three
\n ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and
\n not get found out. I will do at least two
\n things I don’t want to–just for exercise.
\n I will not show anyone that my feelings are
\n hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not
\n show it <\/p>\n

Just for today, I will be agreeable. I will look
\n as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low,
\n act courteously, criticize not one bit, not
\n find fault with anything and not try to improve
