LATIMES.com<\/a>: A woman captured on video last year being punched repeatedly by a California Highway Patrol officer on the 10 Freeway was arrested Tuesday and taken in for a mental health evaluation after she wandered into traffic on the same stretch of roadway, CHP officials said.<\/p>\n Marlene Pinnock, who received a $1.5-million settlement after the controversial incident in 2014, was taken into custody about 2:25 a.m. after two officers found her wandering on the right shoulder of the eastbound 10 Freeway near La Brea Avenue, Sgt. Joe Nunez said.<\/p>\n Pinnock has long struggled with mental illness.<\/p>\n When CHP officers tried to detain her, Pinnock \u201cpulled away and ran into traffic lanes,\u201d according to an incident report provided to The Times. If she had not I would of killed her in my car and maybe injured me inside the car.
