John Mearsheimer says: “It is almost impossible for the Americans to cut a diplomatic deal with the Iranians. The Israel Lobby won’t let that happen…. I hope I am wrong. If we don’t cut a deal with the Iranians, what will happen? We are going to continue to threaten to attack Iran and that may lead them to getting nuclear weapons. We might attack them anyway and that might start a major war in the Middle East.”<\/p>\n
“The United States can’t deal with this [Iran] problem in a smart way [because of the Israel Lobby].”<\/p>\n
“You are going to have problems with Israel because of the Palestinian issue… Israel is not going to let the Palestinians have a viable state… Israel is going to be an apartheid state… It is going to be impossible for you to be friends with Israel for moral and strategic reasons as long as it is an apartheid state… The United States and the Israel Lobby are enabling Israel to turn itself into an apartheid state.”<\/p>\n
