\nBRUSSELS (EJP)<\/a>—European Jewish Association (EJA) General Director Rabbi Menachem Margolin has appealed other community leaders to join a planned visit this week to a refugee camp in Brussels. The goodwill visit to the camp of Syrian refugees in the center of the Belgian capital is organised by the European Jewish Community Centre (EJCC) with the specific aim of delivering much-needed school supplies to children who have already received adequate supplies of food and clothing. Rabbi Margolin called on other Jewish leaders and community members to join the humanitarian mission, which will be leaving Thursday at 18.00 from the European Jewish Building, located in the EU area, either bringing with them the requested supplies, or making a donation to the EJCC who will donate them on their behalf. \u2018\u2019It is each and every Jewish individual\u2019s moral duty to help those in need, to be ambassadors for charity and goodwill in times of crisis,\u2019\u2019 said Rabbi Margolin. \u201cThe founding principle of many universal faiths is to love your neighbor as yourself \u2013 it\u2019s at times like this that we are called on to put our money where our mouths are,\u201d said the EJA Director. \u201cEuropean Jewry well remembers having to flee their homes empty-handed in our recent history.
