* Since Jews have spent the last half century reminding Americans (and more recently Canadians) of the \u2018Voyage of the Damned\u2019 (MS St Louis) one can only imagine the terrible guilt generations of Israelis are going to feel about denying refuge to similarly unfortunate Syrians.<\/p>\n

* According to Wikipedia, the Arab Spring started 5 years ago in December 2010, and in June 2012 the U.N. declared Syria to be in a state of civil war, which I guess resulted from the Arab Spring.
