Anand, founder of Navayana, the publisher of the book titled \u201cThe South African Gandhi: Stretcher-Bearer of Empire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the book, Gandhi described black Africans  as \u201csavage,\u201d \u201craw\u201d and living a life of \u201cindolence and nakedness,\u201d and he campaigned relentlessly to prove to the British rulers that the Indian community in South Africa was superior to native black Africans.
