I\u2019ve sometimes wondered whether what might already have happened if the US military\u2019s officer corps had remained mostly white Southerners. A future coup might well materialize among special operations forces, although I think they would need the cooperation of certain sections of NSA. Putting more blacks into special operations makes sense from a coup avoidance point of view, not from any desire to enhance effectiveness.<\/p>\n<p>* I don\u2019t think a coup is very probable but if it were to happen I doubt the ringleaders would disclose what they really thought if it meant compromising their position.<\/p>\n<p>A more realistic coup is a counter long march through the institutions, but not the military per se.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few months ago, I wrote that the coup is coming.
