{"id":70615,"date":"2015-07-05T19:08:23","date_gmt":"2015-07-06T03:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=70615"},"modified":"2015-07-05T21:54:31","modified_gmt":"2015-07-06T05:54:31","slug":"the-killing-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=70615","title":{"rendered":"The Killing Season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I just watched the excellent three-part Australian documentary series &#8220;<A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/programs\/killing-season\/\">The Killing Season<\/a>&#8221; about leadership challenges in the Australian Labor Party 2007-2013.<\/p>\n<p>Former Australian Prime Minister <A HREF=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kevin_Rudd\">Kevin Rudd<\/a> kept using the word &#8220;betrayal&#8221; to describe his deputy taking his job.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a shame that Kevin does not read my blog. There&#8217;s no such thing as betrayal. That&#8217;s simply a hyperbolic term we use when other people don&#8217;t have the priorities we expect. <A HREF=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Julia_Gillard\">Julia Gillard<\/a> did not betray Kevin Rudd, she simply chose other priorities above Kevin Rudd.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing is personal. People never do anything that we can&#8217;t find an equivalent in our own dark heart. <\/p>\n<p>The sacred parts of the doco are anything to do with racism and sexism.
