REPORT<\/a>: Joseph Schuster discourages Jewish visibility in Muslim quarters, asks for improved security, but adds that \u2018hiding is not the right way\u2019<\/p>\n\u201cThe question is whether it makes sense to be recognizable as Jews in certain areas\u2026 by wearing a yarmulka, or whether it\u2019s better to wear a different head covering. This is indeed a development that I didn\u2019t see five years ago and that is a little frightening.\u201d<\/p>\n
In an interview with a Berlin-based radio station, Schuster said such areas include \u201cproblematic quarters,\u201d particularly in Berlin but also elsewhere in Germany, \u201cand districts with strong Muslim populations.\u201d<\/p>\n
