In Orthodox life, I prefer to use my Hebrew name of “Levi Ben Avraham” (because when I use “Luke Ford” I then immediately have to explain I’m a convert to Judaism as “Luke Ford” is a particularly goyish name, and while I am fine with talking about my conversion, it gets tiresome to do it every time I’m introduced as “Luke Ford”) but it is not a big deal and I don’t correct or have a problem with Yidden calling me “Luke” or “Lord” or “Savior” or “My White Overlord.”<\/p>\n
My face and mannerisms are goyish, so who am I fooling with “Levi?”<\/p>\n
I had a rabbi who would always call me “Levi” unless he was mad at me and then he called “Luke.”<\/p>\n
