They are the only group to do this. Real medical doctors don&#8217;t do this socially. Even when chiros are acquaintances of mine and I am just chatting with them, they might well call themselves Dr. Smith or some such. <\/p>\n<p>Real doctors don&#8217;t introduce themselves as &#8220;Dr&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Occasionally, I will meet insecure academics (who are not medical doctors) who introduce themselves as Dr. Smith etc.<\/p>\n<p>* Nice lady in line at Ralphs says to me tonight: &#8220;You should go ahead of me.&#8221;<br \/>\nI look at her cart and protest: &#8220;But I&#8217;ve got more stuff.&#8221;<br \/>\nLady: &#8220;I&#8217;ve got slipped discs in my neck. I need to wait for someone to help me.&#8221;<br \/>\nLuke: &#8220;Here, let me help you.&#8221;<br \/>\nI stack her items from her cart to the checkout tray.<br \/>\nLuke: &#8220;Have you tried chiropractic?&#8221;<br \/>\nLady: &#8220;Yes, but it&#8217;s expensive.&#8221;<br \/>\nWhen I finish stacking her items, I say: &#8220;I teach the Alexander Technique. It might help.&#8221;<br \/>\nLady: &#8220;The Alexander Technique.
