Chaim Amalek: “Mormons have plenty of in-group solidarity. But when I am around Mormons, I never get the sense that they hate Jews. There are distinctions to be made between in-group solidarity per se, and defining the group in terms of kinship and tribalism. Rabbinical Judaism is very heavily tribal\/genetic\/familial. It does not seek converts because simply put, it does not want their blood to taint theirs. By and large Mormons, although keen on in-group solidarity, are happy to welcome converts to their group (at least those that are not black, who only recently were admitted to their priesthood).
