They&#8217;ll publish photos of gays getting married all day long though that is offensive to those with traditional sensibilities.<\/p>\n<p><A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/style\/news-organizations-wrestle-with-whether-to-publish-charlie-hebdo-cartoons-after-attack\/2015\/01\/07\/841e9c8c-96bc-11e4-8005-1924ede3e54a_story.html?hpid=z2\">From the WP<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019ve taken the view that we don\u2019t want to publish hate speech or spectacles that offend, provoke or intimidate, or anything that desecrates religious symbols or angers people along religious or ethnic lines,\u201d said Santiago Lyon, a vice president of the AP and its director of photography. \u201cWe don\u2019t feel that\u2019s useful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;The Times\u2019 associate managing editor for standards, Philip B. Corbett, said his paper doesn\u2019t publish material \u201cdeliberately intended to offend religious sensibilities.\u201d He said Times editors decided that describing the cartoons rather than showing them \u201cwould give readers sufficient information to understand today\u2019s story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, The Post\u2019s executive editor, Martin Baron, said his newspaper avoids publication of material \u201cthat is pointedly, deliberately, or needlessly offensive to members of religious groups\u201d and would continue to apply those principles in the wake of the Paris atrocity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The AP won&#8217;t publish stuff that offends the left.
