When I was growing up, I didn’t know any parents who were as involved with their kids’ lives (running them to and from practice, checking up on their homework, scheduling play dates, etc) as the typical middle-class parent is today (that I have seen).<\/p>\n

Contrast this with your childhood in the 70’s, where parents felt safe letting their kids play in the street and the toughest character on TV was The Fonz…Aaayyyyy!”<\/p>\n
