Simpson trial, but as a  huge fan of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nocturne.com\/movies\/noir.html\">L.A. noir<\/a>, I think <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/rockdaily\/index.php\/category\/the-phil-spector-trial\/\">the<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/spector\/\">Phil<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.courttv.com\/trials\/spector\/\">Spector<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tabloidcolumn.com\/phil-spector.html\">trial<\/a> is  one of the most interesting to come along in quite some time.<\/p>\n<p>It has many of the great <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/1947project.blogspot.com\/\">L.A. noir<\/a> elements: Has-beens trying to hang on to their  former lives, hangers-on trying to define themselves by the company they keep,  people on society&rsquo;s fringes reaping heartache by praying to the false gods of  Hollywood sex, fame &amp; fortune. Tragic, sympathetic and lonely figures hoping  somehow&nbsp;that the chimerical, empty promises of this town will&nbsp;manage to fill the  void &ndash; failing to grasp before its too late that&nbsp;they never do.<\/p>\n<p>The entry of Hollywood Madam&nbsp; Jodi &ldquo;Babydol&rdquo; Gibson has added even more to  the spice.<\/p>\n<p>As the L.A. Weekly&rsquo;s Steven Mikulan <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.laweekly.com\/general\/a-considerable-town\/phil-noir-in-a-lonely-place\/16861\/\">reports<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!--adsense--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Justin Levine posts: It may not be nearly as epic in scope as the O.J.
