Meir Simcha of Dvinsk<\/a> for <A HREF=\"http:\/\/torahinmotion.org\">Torah in Motion<\/a>, history professor <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Marc_B._Shapiro\">Marc B. Shapiro<\/a> says: There&#8217;s a whole school of thought that says aliyah (moving to Israel) is not important until the Messianic era.<\/p>\n<p>I was looking on <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.vosizneias.com\/103074\/2012\/03\/18\/israel-author-labels-american-jews-partial-jews-only-israelis-are-complete-jews\/\">the internet<\/a> today [on one of the Jewish news and gossip sites, perhaps <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.vosizneias.com\/\">VosIzNeias<\/a>]. <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A._B._Yehoshua\">A.B. Yehoshua<\/a> gave a talk that said that only Jews who live in Israel are real Jews. Those who live in the diaspora are half-Jews. And you have all these am haaretzim (ignorant ones) criticizing him and they&#8217;re all ignorant because they spend all their time on the internet instead of learning Torah. Not one knew enough to point out that <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A._B._Yehoshua\">A.B. Yehoshua<\/a> &#8212; no Torah scholar &#8212; was giving the <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nahmanides\">Ramban<\/a>&#8216;s position. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In his second lecture on R.
