{"id":41604,"date":"2012-03-12T11:57:49","date_gmt":"2012-03-12T19:57:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=41604"},"modified":"2012-03-12T12:32:24","modified_gmt":"2012-03-12T20:32:24","slug":"triumph-of-the-will","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=41604","title":{"rendered":"Triumph of the Will"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Mondays, I like to watch <em><A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Triumph_of_the_Will\">Triumph of the Will<\/a><\/em>, a 1935 Nazi propaganda film by <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Leni_Riefenstahl\">Leni Riefenstahl<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>In his closing speech, Adolf Hitler starts out with good use. His head floats up and his face is clear of tension. His shoulders are broad. <\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/80lLU5-yji8\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As he gets into his speech, Hitler&#8217;s face and body display more tension, but he doesn&#8217;t pull down and compress his torso. His neck remains uncompressed and he breathes easily and projects his words.<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, Hitler is collapsed and broken down in the last months of the war as dramatized in the 2004 film <em><A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Downfall_(film)\">Downfall<\/a><\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9xUS30-RFf0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Notice that a minute in when Hitler loses his temper, he pulls his head into his torso, compressing his neck.
