“I blame a couple of things. One is the fashion industry. Around WWI, it became fashionable to tuck the pelvis. The flapper look. That was a major wrong turn. People have come to believe this is normal and desirable.”<\/p>\n

“Furniture design came to support a tucked pelvis.”<\/p>\n

“The other thing in modern Western culture is that we no longer have families rooted in a place and we don’t have grandparents informing how parents carry their children. We don’t have grandparents and aunts and uncles modeling how to bend, how to walk.”<\/p>\n

“People are more intellectually cued into these matters than kinesthestically. It’s an underdeveloped sense.”<\/p>\n
