On his radio show today, Dennis Prager talks to Richard Miniter<\/a>, award-winning investigative journalist and author New York Times bestsellers: Losing Bin Laden. His new book is Mastermind: The Many Faces of the 9\/11 Architect, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Richard: “I think we’re going to beat them [the monsters] in the end. You look at the various histories of wars against terror and if they’re fought well by smart government, they last about 15 years. We’re coming to the end of this one.”<\/p>\n

Dennis: “You’re saying that the main issue is terror, not ideology.”<\/p>\n

Richard says that Al Qaeda’s attacks on the United States are coming to an end. <\/p>\n

In 2001, Al Qaeda had about 20,000 people. We’ve destroyed every known training camp, every known recruiter. <\/p>\n

This is an Arab civil war. They want to create sharia-based Islamist regimes in the Middle East united under a single leader. <\/p>\n

About 20% of the Islamic world share the views of Al Qaeda.<\/p>\n

KSM loved Kentucky Fried Chicken. He ballooned up from 5’5 140 pounds to over 200 pounds, and that led to a lot of mocking from his peers. So he wanted to demonstrate he was a tough guy. He purchased Daniel Pearl after the WSJ reporter was kidnapped and slit his throat on video to prove he was tough. <\/p>\n

In the video, you can clearly see it is KSM.<\/p>\n

Out of deference to Marianne Pearl, that video has been mostly scrubbed from the web.<\/p>\n

It took 12 minutes for Daniel Pearl to die, 12 minutes of his throat being hacked away. <\/p>\n

Dennis: “I’m sorry to broadcast this. I’m very close to his family.”<\/p>\n

John McCain says it is not true that we got the name of Osama Bin Laden’s courier by water-boarding KSM.<\/p>\n

Richard: “Of course it is true. John McCain has to say it is not true because John McCain has staked out an intellectually shabby position motivated by ambition in 2003-2005, so-called against torture. He paraded as he is wont to do his captivity and suffering in North Vietnam and his hero status from it and he paraded it for the benefit of the Washington Post and the New York Times to pass legislation to shut down the CIA’s enhanced interrogation program.
