Friday. 7:30 pm. I’m at a friend’s home. The wife and kids have lit the Shabbos candles. They’re religious. He’s not so much.<\/p>\n
I sit with him on the couch and watch the Laker game.<\/p>\n
First, one kid comes over and turns off the TV. “Shabbos!” she says.<\/p>\n
“We’ve still got 18 minutes,” he says and turns it back on.<\/p>\n
