{"id":26752,"date":"2010-12-18T22:00:05","date_gmt":"2010-12-19T06:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=26752"},"modified":"2010-12-18T22:00:05","modified_gmt":"2010-12-19T06:00:05","slug":"talmud-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=26752","title":{"rendered":"Talmud Talk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Luke Ford  is worried that his <A HREF=\"https:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=26669\">weekly Torah Talks with Rabbi Rabbs<\/a> are becoming too popular and too accessible to the goyim and perhaps at some point we should switch to a daily <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Daf_Yomi\">Daf Yomi<\/a> live cam <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.dafyomi.org\/\">Talmud Talk<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll launch a <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yeshiva\">virtual yeshiva<\/a>! <A HREF=\"http:\/\/rabbs.com\">Rabbi Rabbs<\/a> will be the <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rosh_yeshiva\">Rosh Yeshiva<\/a> and I will be the <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mashgiach_ruchani\">mashgiach ruchani<\/a> in charge of outreach and admissions.<\/p>\n<p>I would anticipate kicking it <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lithuanian_Jews\">Lithuanian<\/a> along the lines of <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chaim_Volozhin\">Volozhin<\/a>. And we&#8217;ll shut down before we teach secular subjects.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure yet whether or not we&#8217;ll grant <A HREF=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Semikhah\">semicha<\/a>. I anticipate our institution will be more dedicated to serious learning than vocational training.
