Because what they care about is equality and redistribution of income. Therefore the idea that the top 2% of wage earners will not have a tax increase… The top 2% are the small business owners who can hire people. If we raise that tax, then fewer Americans will be employed.<\/p>\n
“I believe that the left cares more about how many Americans are unemployed than they do about inequality. Everybody has priorities.”<\/p>\n
“The non-wealthy are hurt by a tax increase but that does not matter to the left. That is why Europe has always tolerated a higher unemployment rate than the United States. Equality is more important than people working. Leftism is a passion. It is feelings based. It is anger at inequality. It is not a thought-through system. It is not pro-growth. It is pro-equality.
