Last week, R. Rabbs<\/a> had to run off early from Torah Talk because he had a Succah party in Calabassas to attend.<\/p>\n

Last night on our show, R. Rabbs said: “I always like to dance [with men only]. Whenever there’s a dance party, I’m there. A Jewish dance party. <\/p>\n

“Normally, during chol hamoed<\/a><\/em> [Succoth<\/a>], there’s going to be a dance party. They used to have them in the street all the time [in Pico-Robertson].<\/p>\n

“I used to dance in the street every year for 20 years. That’s stopped.<\/p>\n

“I saw on Facebook that some guy had posted that he was going to this dance party at the Calabassas yeshiva. They were having a dance party and a band. I asked a few questions. <\/p>\n

“I went to the band’s web site. They looked for real. <\/p>\n

“I was like, yeah, this is going to be hot. It was at this yeshiva. It said there were going to be 150 guys dancing. Yeah, I’m going to be there!<\/p>\n

“I shlep out there. I get there and do you know what I see? <\/p>\n

“It is supposed to start at 9 p.m. I get there at 9:30 p.m. <\/p>\n

“They said, it’s going to be in the beis medresh.<\/p>\n

“I go down to the beis medresh. There’s nothing going on down there. There are some kids moving some tables around, getting ready for the band. <\/p>\n

“I look and it’s not the band. It’s one guy from the band with a keyboard. <\/p>\n

“I looked and there were no 150 guys coming. I stayed there for 20 minutes. They still weren’t ready. <\/p>\n

“I’d say that tops on the night, there were 15 guys in a circle with a guy playing a keyboard. This is not exactly what I drove out for. <\/p>\n

“These weren’t yeshiva guys. These were like kids. The whole thing was creeping me out. What was I doing there. There would’ve been 14 14-year olds and Rabbs. <\/p>\n

“I brought my flip camera so I could film myself dancing.<\/p>\n

“Here’s the final thing that forced me out the door. I was there for 20 minutes and nobody said hello to me. They probably thought I was this creepy guy.”<\/p>\n
