\nSome of the most dramatic recent polls suggesting that a Republican \u201cwave\u201d will overtake Democratic majorities this year share a single ingredient: testosterone.<\/p>\n

The gender gap that in 2008 resulted in 6 percent more men than women supporting Republican John McCain is likely to be even greater this year. But this time, evidence suggests Republican-leaning men are likely to prove the driving force behind a GOP surge.<\/p>\n

Men are not only more loyal to the GOP than two years ago but also more motivated to vote, recent polls suggest. This year\u2019s central issues are ones that politicians traditionally use to appeal to men, especially worries about budget deficits. <\/p>\n

…\u201cIn times when the role of government is particularly controversial, you tend to see a particularly large gender gap,\u201d said Celinda Lake, a Democratic pollster who has long studied gender and voting. She added that this year\u2019s is \u201camong the bigger gender gaps we\u2019ve seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s reminiscent of the gender gap we had when the gender gap first emerged, which was around [the time of] Ronald Reagan,\u201d she said. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On his radio show today, Dennis Prager says: “What does this say about many — not all — women voters? They are willing to see the country head towards bankruptcy to keep giving people money. Women want to be taken care of. They want their kids taken care of. And that’s it. It’s an emotional vote.<\/p>\n

“Women don’t care about the economic well-being of the country as much as men do. They have a more selfish way of voting. How much more money will I and my kids get? That’s how I read it. They don’t care if the country is economically solvent. Men care more. In this instance, men are more responsible than women.”<\/p>\n

“The question isn’t whether it is sexist. It is whether it is true. Women are more interested in government expansion and providing benefits than fiscal responsibility. Remember that woman who got up before the townhall meeting of George Bush and John Kerry in 2004 and asked, “If I vote for you, what will you do for me?””<\/p>\n

Female caller: “A lot of women don’t have the support of a man anymore because of the breakdown of the family.”<\/p>\n

Dennis: “I’ll marry the state. So men become less significant. There would be more marriage if people knew there would be less funding coming in if they didn’t marry. The state undermines the need for marriage. That’s why in Europe as the state gets bigger, marriage decreases. You don’t have to depend on anybody. Marriage is not solely a romantic institution. It’s you rely on me and I rely on you.”<\/p>\n
