In a 1996 lecture on Exodus 13, Dennis Prager says: Christianity has a central moment — the crucifixion. For Jews, it is the Exodus. Exodus means leaving Egypt. This has to be understood philosophically. Egypt means idols, bondage and death and the Exodus means God, freedom and life.<\/p>\n

Egypt could’ve been anywhere. It could’ve been the Exodus from Thailand. Egypt is the norm, the Torah is the abnorm. The norm is to be pre-occupied with death. The norm is bondage, servitude and slavery. The norm is to be pre-occupied with idols. <\/p>\n
