How will the Morgage meltdowns\/housing downturn affect the Jews in our community?<\/p>\n
I have seen many many Jews in my community (Fairfax-La Brea) turn to the "equity" in their homes to pay for tuition, weddings…trips to Israel, etc.. If equity or 2nd, 3rd mortgages dry up, how will this economic pause, affect our institutions. A lot of these families are in over their heads — teachers, rabbis and administrators and average business\/professional people. <\/p>\n
Maybe there is some secret financial organization, I don’t know about.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
