The violence, which was publicized on many media outlets, both  Jewish and not, brought tremendous shame to the name of Lubavitch. However the  violence wasn&#8217;t initiated by Cossacks or Russian peasants of olde, but rather by  a group chassidei chabad who couldn&#8217;t handle the fact that the parties running  the operations in 770 (which were elected by the community of Crown Heights) are  individuals who believe the Lubavitcher Rebbe is Moshiach and feel a need to  publicize this message, as the Rebbe had encouraged.&nbsp; <br \/>\n&nbsp; <br \/>\nOn that fateful  night, Shluchim and Temimim represented by the Krinsky &#8211; Shemtov duo, with the  assistance of a notorious gang known&nbsp;to many as &quot;Shomrim&quot; violently tore down  signs bearing the words &quot;Yechi Adoneinu&quot; from the walls of 770, vandalized  thousands of dollars of equipment belonging to 770live, and beat and assaulted  anyone who attempted to protest their actions, including nearly killing Y.Y.  Kupchik.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFollowing the vandalism, NYPD detectives arrested several  Temimim who were identified by Shomrim members as having violently assaulted  them (when in fact, the exact opposite was true). <br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nCharges against the  Temimim were dropped soon thereafter due to lack of evidence, with the exception  of one Tomim, Melech Thaler, who was arrested following a complaint by Levi  Weiss, (a prominent Shomrim-gang member). <br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nLater on in court, Melech  found that Levi Weiss&rsquo; charges disappeared and were replaced by allegations  emanating from Israel Shemtov, who claimed he saw Melech Thaler throw a bottle  at him in 770.  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--adsense--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Chabad.info so you know it&#8217;s true: On the night of Kinus Hashluchim, Rosh Chodesh Kislev, 5767, a unprovoked violent pogrom was perpetrated in Lubavitch World headquarters &ndash; 770 Eastern Parkway.
