{"id":19904,"date":"2010-06-09T12:19:14","date_gmt":"2010-06-09T20:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=19904"},"modified":"2010-06-09T12:19:14","modified_gmt":"2010-06-09T20:19:14","slug":"why-close-a-freeway-after-an-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lukeford.net\/blog\/?p=19904","title":{"rendered":"Why Close A Freeway After An Accident?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was driving west on Palms Blvd around 9 a.m. and as I crossed over the 405, I saw a bunch of people looking north up the freeway.<\/p>\n<p><A HREF=\"http:\/\/latimesblogs.latimes.com\/lanow\/2010\/06\/405-crash.html\">All lanes of traffic were closed about half a mile up<\/a>. There&#8217;d been an accident.<\/p>\n<p>The 405 North remained closed for hours so they could investigate the accident.<\/p>\n<p>This doesn&#8217;t make sense to me. Why waste thousands of hours of people&#8217;s time this way? Why not just videotape the scene thoroughly, clean it up and send people on their way?<\/p>\n<p>It reminds me of policeman who frequently stop their cars in traffic and tie up a lane. They have abundant parking spaces to pull over into but they instead choose to stop traffic.
