I just want to read his new novel.<\/p>\n<p>How could Charlotte Simmons be considered a commercial disappointment? It was a massive best-seller. I read it twice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/article.php?id=D8TTUGP85&amp;show_article=1\">Hillel Italie reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>NEW YORK (AP) &#8211; Tom Wolfe is working on a new novel and will release it through a new publisher, ending a 40-year run with Farrar, Straus &amp; Giroux and signing with Little, Brown and Co.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;His new novel, &quot;Back to Blood,&quot; will be a &quot;Bonfire&quot;-like tour of Miami, taking on &quot;class, family, wealth, race, crime, sex, corruption, and ambition.&quot; Among the characters: a Cuban nurse married to a French sex doctor, a Haitian woman &quot;who passes for Anglo&quot; and &quot;a freshman journalist on the trail of a Russian-mob-comes-to-Miami story.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Publication is scheduled for 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Wolfe had been with Farrar, Straus since 1965 and the release of his first book, &quot;The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby.&quot; His work has sold millions of copies, but his most recent novel, &quot;I Am <a href=\"http:\/\/search.breitbart.com\/q?s=%22Charlotte+Simmons%22&amp;sid=breitbart.com\" style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: black; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal;\" rel=\"nofollow\">Charlotte Simmons<\/a>,&quot; was a critical and commercial disappointment.<\/p>\n<p>According to a publishing official familiar with negotiations, Farrar, Straus and Wolfe could not agree on a new contract: Having lost money on &quot;Charlotte Simmons,&quot; the publisher was offering a reduced advance for &quot;Back to Blood.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; Nesbit said Wolfe expects to complete the book in four years, a <a href=\"http:\/\/search.breitbart.com\/q?s=%22relatively+short%20time%22&amp;sid=breitbart.com\" style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: black; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal;\" rel=\"nofollow\">relatively short time<\/a> for the hardworking author, who has taken up to a decade to finish a novel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!--adsense--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t care who Wolfe&#8217;s publisher is.
