But  it&rsquo;s not. It&rsquo;s religious, unusually religious even, considering the people  involved. It&rsquo;s also just plain unusual: The people throwing this party are being  paid to be Jewish.<\/p>\n<p>The arrangement is part of a unique philanthropic  effort designed to foster Jewish identity within the age cohort of the party&rsquo;s  hosts and their friends. The hosts&rsquo; rent, probably about $2,100 a month for this  nice central-Seattle house, is being hugely subsidized, as is the food they&rsquo;re  preparing&mdash;by a far-off (and, I keep hearing, far-out) Jewish financier.
