Mr. Ford: I am following up on today’s post<\/a> by Arthur Bloberger, a former colleague of mine at the Las Vegas Jewish Federation and a true mensch in every sense of the word.<\/p>\n I know everyone reading his post will be floored, perhaps wondering whether Arthur embellished some of the details. I want people to know that every word Arthur says is not only true, but in virtually every case was witnessed either verbally or personally by Federation staff, many of whom are no longer employed.<\/p>\n During my professional career I have received nearly 30 national awards for excellence in various forms of communications, including university magazines and newspapers. I think that qualifies me to a certain extent to offer a professional perspective about Arthur and the Jewish Reporter.<\/p>\n Arthur Bloberger was the consummate professional in faithfully putting out a Jewish publication the community could take nachos in. Of all the professional communicators I’ve had the pleasure to work with over the years, NONE ever exhibited more journalistic ability and personal and moral integrity as Arthur.<\/p>\n What has been allowed to happen to him (and several others) is a crime that every Jewish person should be ashamed of. The actions of the individuals Arthur notes in his post run contrary to everything Judaism is supposed to stand for in dealing honorably with others.
