Young lovers look forward with frank delight to the consummation of their passions, usually after they have been properly married. There are lots of sexual jokes in Shakespeare and they are usually good natured ones… Young people prance out into the green fields and sing "Hey nannany" on a May morning… But in Measure for Measure, sex is usually an unattractive source for death.
